History

In 1963 Audrey Robinson was dating a man named Cyrus Dorian, while secretly seeing Martin Robinson, as interracial couples were ostracized in 1963. After leaving Cyrus for Martin, Cyrus grew enraged and rumors began of a truck picking up men of color who are then never seen again. The attacks culminated in a crazed Cyrus setting fire to the town's church, where his ex girlfriend and Martin were to be married, killing the children's choir inside. Later Cyrus would come after Martin, and severely beat him, however Martin was able to free himself and proceeded to beat Cyrus to death. Along with his friends, Clayton Soames and Jimmy Anderson, he disposed of the body and truck in the swamp, while a young deputy, Harold Todd, who discovered their actions, covered for them because of Cyrus's crimes.

When first Clayton Soames and then Martin Robinson are killed, Martin's daughter Cassie calls on Dean and Sam for help in finding out what happened, as she believes their cause of death was supernatural. She is correct, and the investigation leads them to Cyrus Dorian and eventually Cassie's mother, who tells them the story behind Cyrus's death.

Audrey Robinson hid the actions of Martin and his friends, as did Harold Todd, now the town mayor, for over 40 years. Cyrus had been dormant during this time, but he was awakened when his old family home was bulldozed.
