Supernatural has a lot of things and characters named after its crew members or their family and friends. The character of Bobby Singer being named after producer Robert Singer is perhaps the most well-known example.

- 1.05 Bloody Mary - Benji Swartz, the kid one of the girls playing Truth or Dare mentioned, was a kid that Supernatural creator, Eric Kripke, grew up with. Gary Bryman, the name on the back of the mirror, was Eric's college friend.
- 1.06 Skin - When Sam is reading his emails on his phone, his contacts include Jerry Wanek and John Marcynuk, both named after production designers for Supernatural, and Mary-Ann Liu and Stanislava Shmakin, both named after graphic designers for Supernatural.
- 1.11 Scarecrow - Dean's cellphone includes the numbers for Bren, Carmelita, Christian, Curtis, Donny, Robin. These are names of art department crew members: Bren Moore (Costume Set Supervisor), Carmelita Fowler (Property Assistant), Christian "Chris" Sneddon (Construction Coordinator), Curtis "Curt" Maze (On-Set Dresser), Donny "Don" McGill (Assistant Property Master) and Robin Stooshnov (Assistant Property Master).
- 1.12 Faith - "The Ford City Tribune" article that Sam finds is credited to Leanne Elaschuk. Lee Anne Elaschuk was assistant art director, graphic designer and graphic artist.
- 1.22 Devil's Trap - First appearance of Bobby Singer who is named after producer Robert Singer.

- 2.20 What Is and What Should Never Be - The law book Sam is reading in the alternate reality is written by Kevin Parks who is one of the assistant directors.
Season 3
- 3.09 Malleus Maleficarum - Sam's research folder has a copy of a local paper called "Sherwood Community News". It features an article entitled "Craft Corner" with Liz Goldwyn. Liz Goldwyn was the assistant art director.
- 3.10 Dream a Little Dream of Me - When Dean is investigating the dead doctor's office, there is a book on the desk, The Cumulative Dream by Ringrose. Ocea Ringrose served as the set dresser
Season 4
- 4.01 Lazarus Rising - The diner the demons had taken over was named Johnny Mac's Diner. John MacCarthy is the first assistant director
- 4.08 Wishful Thinking - The name of the lottery winner seen in the Concrete News Daily newspaper headline, George Neuman, is a reference to and picture of Supernatural set decorator George Neuman. The Article was written by Chris Cooper who was the prop master.
- Dean's health inspector badge has the name John MacCarthy who was a first assistant director. The name on Sam's health inspector badge is Adrian Diepold who was a second assistant director.
- 4.10 Heaven and Hell - Anna’s parents Amy and Rich Wilkes are named after Kripke’s friends.
- 4.17 It's a Terrible Life - When Dean looks up the file of the tech support worker who's just died, Paul's manager is listed as "Mary-Ann Liu."
- Many of the name plaques in the tech support cubicles are members of the crew. The one behind Sam reads, "George Neuman". The ones on either side of him read, "Tim Dagley" and "Terry Ewasiuk". The one next to Paul reads, "Louis Holz."
- 4.18 The Monster at the End of This Book - Carver Edlund, the pen name used by Chuck Shurley, is an amalgam of the names of Supernatural writers Jeremy Carver and Ben Edlund.
- While not named in the episode, the publisher's name was Sera Siege, named after writers Julie Siege and Sera Gamble.
- The diner is called Kripke's Hollow, Eric Kripke is the series creator.
- 4.19 Jump the Shark - In a tribute to Kim Manners, Sam and Dean were staying at a hotel called Kelsey Manor. A display card in the room advertises happy hour at the Sonny Buono lounge and features a pic of a mustached Kim Manners.There were also upside down "KM" carved into the wooden paddle parts of the room divider in the motel room.
- 4.22 Lucifer Rising - The address Chuck uses on his manuscript of the next Supernatural book is in Kripke's Hollow, OH.

- 5.02 Good God, Y'All - The banner on the main street advertising "Pioneer Days" features production designer Jerry Wanek as the Grand Marshall alongside "Rodeo Queen Lee Lee Laschuk" - a shoutout to graphic artist Lee Ann Elaschuk.
Season 6
- 6.05 Live Free or Twihard - The name on the fake I.D. that Kristen uses at The Black Rose is "Emily Fang". Emily Fang was a visual effects artist for seasons 5 and 6 of Supernatural.
- 6.17 My Heart Will Go On - The newspaper article that Sam shows Dean in Bobby's kitchen titled "Three Chester, Pennsylvania family members die within the same week" is written by "Robert Leader." Robert Leader was an assistant art director on Supernatural.
Season 7
- 7.03 The Girl Next Door - Over the loudspeaker in the hospital, 'Dr. Todd Aronauer' is paged. This is a reference to one of Supernatural's producers, Todd Aronauer.
- 7.05 Shut Up, Dr. Phil - Mary-Ann Liu was also the Staff Reporter of the online article about Carl Dunlop in the episode.
- Don Stark's assistant is named Jenny Klein. At the time of this episode's airing, Jenny Klein was a writer's assistant on Supernatural.
- One of the paintings in the exhibition is of Supernatural production designer Jerry Wanek and his dog Tula.
- When Sam hacks into the Dewey Stevens Construction emails, several names can be seen which are references to Supernatural crewmembers: Eli Best (art department assistant), Mary-Ann Liu (graphic artist), Jerry Wanek (producer & director), George Neuman (set decorator), Roger Jacoe (head painter and paint co-ordinator), Jason Fischer (production co-ordinator), Randy Shymkiw (special effects co-ordinator)
- 7.08 Season Seven, Time for a Wedding! - Jackson, the demon causing the accidents to kill people is named after Supernatural writer Jackson Stewart.
- 7.09 How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters - The author of second article on Jersey Devils that Sam shows to Bobby has the name 'Dr. Kara Schwandt Phd'. Kara Schwandt was the set decoration office coordinator from 2005–2014. The author of the article entitled, Camping High Season Harshed by Human Burrito has the name 'Karolina Safar'. Karolina Safar worked in the props department from 2009–2020.
- The beer Dean drinks is called MargieKugel Beer. Made by the art department, it is named after Jerry Wanek's mother combined with local Wisconsin beer Linenkugel.source
- 7.12 Time After Time - When talking about old strange deaths in Canton, Ohio, Sam brings up articles written by authors named after Supernatural crewmembers: Adrian Diepold (second assistant director), Jennifer Klein (writer), Michael Mayo (rigging gaffer), Eli Best (art department assistant)
- Sam and Dean drink Margiekugel beer from Wisconsin, which is named after Production Designer Jerry Wanek's mom.
- The medical examiner's report on the death of Charles Durbin lists multiple Supernatural crewmembers:- The medical examiner is listed as Leeanne Elaschuk M.D., a graphic designer in the art department.
- The physician is listed as Dr. M. A. Liu M.D. (Mary-Ann Liu), head graphic designer.
- Another doctor is listed as Dr. Jason Fischer M.D., production co-ordinator.
- Another doctor is listed as Dr. Lesley DeHaan M.D., assistant production co-ordinator.
- The prosector is listed as Adrian Hrytzak L.L.B., art department co-ordinator.
- Durbin's roommate is listed as Kevin Parks, first assistant director.
- 7.15 Repo Man - On the coroner's report that Sam is reading, it says 'Received in lab by Emma Campbell'. Emma Campbell was an art department assistant in Supernatural. The report was also 'by Dr. M.A. Liu', named after Mary-Ann Liu, head graphic designer on Supernatural.
- 7.16 Out with the Old - In Irina's autopsy report, a few Supernatural crewmember's names are used: Head graphic designer, Mary-Ann Liu as 'Dr. M. Liu' (physician); Art department co-ordinator, Adrian Hrytzak as 'Adrian Hrytzak, L.L.B.' (prosector); Graphic designer, Lee Anne Elaschuk as 'Leeanne Elaschuk, M.D.' (medical examiner)
- 7.17 The Born-Again Identity - Some of the names Dean has written down to contact include Supernatural crewmembers' names: P. Hunter — Peter Hunter (cameraman), L. Gillis — Lori Gillis (set decorator), K. Bruhm — Kelly Bruhm (costume supervisor), D. Riopel — Dave Riopel (dolly grip)
- When Bobby's journal drops onto the floor, it opens on an address page and listed on the pages are the names of a few Supernatural writers and directors including: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Phil Sgriccia, Serge Ladouceur, Andrew Dabb, Robbie Thompson
- 7.20 The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo - On the front page of the "U.S. Conservatives" website, the Republican presidential and vice-presidential candidates are given as Johnny MacCarthy and Gabe Correa respectively. Johnny MacCarthy is actually the first assistant director on Supernatural (and also directed the episode) and Gabe Correa is the third A.D. on Supernatural. Neither bear any resemblance to the photos on the website.
- 7.21 Reading Is Fundamental - On Kevin's school planner, the names of his teachers are names of Supernatural crewmembers including: Mr. Wanek - Socials (Director and Producer Jerry Wanek), Ms. Campbell - English (Costumes Co-ordinator Rena Campbell), Ms. Elaschuk - Math (Graphic artist/designer Lee Anne Elaschuk), Mr. Leader - P.E. (Art director/set designer Robert Leader), Mr. Williams - Music (Visual effects co-ordinator Adam Williams)
- 7.22 There Will Be Blood - When Sam is researching SucroCorp online, he shows Dean an article written by Jenny Klein, staff reporter. Jenny Klein is a writer on Supernatural.
- 7.23 Survival of the Fittest - One of the radio announcers heard talking about Dick Roman is named Lawshe, a reference to Michael Lawshe who is supervising sound editor on the show.

- 13.10 Wayward Sisters - The character Amanda Fitzmartin is named after producer, writer, and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb's assistant Meghan Fitzmartin.
- 13.15 A Most Holy Man - Richard Greenstreet asks if Sam and Dean know the "Manchin twins out of Newport". This is a reference to VFX post coordinator Mary Manchin. Also, the names on the flight records that Sam hacks into are names of crew members: Robert Leader (assistant art director/set designer), Adrian Hrytzak (art department coordinator), Jerry Wanek (production designer/co-producer/director), Gavin Mackenzie (assistant art director), Andrei Andrianko (assistant art director), and Wendy Findlay (construction buyer).
- 13.17 The Thing - Writer Davy Perez revealed that Yokoth and Glythur's name were a mashup of Shoggoth and Hastur from the Cthulhu mythos, with the names of fellow Supernatural writers Steve Yockey and Meredith Glynn.
- 13.19 Funeralia - The Staff Reporter who authored the article about Elizabeth Mahler's death in The Oregon Tribune is named "K. Grant" after props buyer/property manager Karolina Grant. Later, Karolina Grant is named in another article as a member of the "American Prescription Drugs Watch Dog Association". In the same article, art department coordinator, Adrian Hrytzak, is named as a "health policy professor at Camilla University".

- 14.01 Stranger in a Strange Land – Production designer Jerry Wanek's name is used as the minister for St. Anthony's Holy Parish of Duluth.
- 14.02 Gods and Monsters – Assistant art director / set designer Robert Leader is named as one of the detectives on the case of a pile of bodies being found in Duluth. Gavin Mackenzie, assistant art director, is named as the author of the article on the discovery of the dead bodies.
- 14.04 Mint Condition – Art department coordinator Adrian Hrytzak is named as a reviewer for New York Film Review on a poster for the movie Hell Hazers. There is a poster for a movie called Hell Hazers. It also references co-executive producer Peter Johnson, Jerry Wanek, Robert Leader, first assistant director Kevin Parks, construction coordinator Warren Dunlop, head graphic designer Mary-Ann Liu, writer Meredith Glynn, writer / executive producer Eugenie Ross-Leming, writer Robert Berens, executive producer Jim Michaels, and director Phil Sgriccia. There is also a poster for All Saints' Day featuring Hatchet Man. The movie is noted as being directed by episode director Amyn Kaderali and executive produced by director / writer / producer / showrunner Robert Singer and writer / showrunner Andrew Dabb. Makeup SFX coordinator / makeup SFX producer Ben Carruth, Jerry Wanek, director of photography Serge Ladouceur, composer Jay Gruska and composer Christopher Lennertz are also credited on the poster.
- 14.06 Optimism – The romance novel that Harper leafs through while Vance is chasing Jack around the library is a fake novel named Lances and Laces. The author is named as Wendy McAllister, a storyboard artist for Supernatural.
- 14.11 Damaged Goods – A picture of a young Jerry Wanek can be seen in Donna Hanscum's shed.
- 14.12 Prophet and Loss – Adrian Hrytzak and Mary-Ann Liu are named on the homicide reports from Fort Dodge, Iowa.
- 14.16 Don't Go in the Woods – In the incident report for a missing person, Jerry Wanek is named as a dispatched officer with Adrian Hrytzak being the officer on duty. In a separate incident report, Robert Leader is named as the officer on duty. Later, the book Eliot is reading—Monsters, Myth & Magik—is said to be authored by Jerry Wanek.
