The Dudemeter
The Dudemeter is a fan project that started in an attempt to count just how many times Sam and Dean said 'Dude' throughout the show. This evolved beyond a documentation of vocab quirks into a documentation of a number of recurring key character behaviours that fans love, including not just vocab, but behaviour as well.

Sam's cherry was popped with "Dude, enough!" in Asylum, just after Dean says "Let me know if you see any dead people, Haley Joel."
Dean averages 1.4 dudes an episode. Starting with Asylum, Sam averages 0.7 (Dean averages 0.9 over this same period, compared to 2.0 pre-Asylum) but he'd never had more than one per ep before Shadow.
"I've been everywhere, man," or, man is to Sam as dude is to Dean? Not really.

There was some question about what to count, here; this only includes instances where Sam, Dean, and Papa are addressing Sam or Dean directly. (Links go to the comments by the awesome contributors, so you can see the lines themselves.)

What's so interesting to note here is the mostly balanced distribution: they may call each other by name a little or a lot, but they tend to do it the same amount. Dean averages one "Sammy" and six "Sam"s per ep, and Sam says "Dean" an average of eight times per ep.
And Papa calls Sam "Sammy" as much as he doesn't. N'awww.
