Jakob was an Apocalypse World resistance fighter who had joined up with Mary and Jack.

Jakob surprises Mary and Jack with news that the angels are leaving Michael's Fortress. Later that night, Jack uses his abilities to see that Jakob was telling the truth. When Jack suggests that Michael may be scared, Jakob replies that they have been fighting Michael for the better part of eight years and there is nothing Michael is afraid of.

At Michael's abandoned fortress, Mary has Jakob and some other men check the warding on the church. Jakob quickly returns with Kevin Tran, having found him locked up in the dungeon. Jack and Mary argue about what to do about Michael; Jakob suggests they let Michael leave and be some other world's problem for a change, which Mary admonishes him for.

When Kevin reveals he was a plant by Michael meant to kill everyone around Jack, Jakob is one of the fighters killed when Kevin activates his spell and suicide bombs the church.
