Larry Lee was a professional wrestler with Top Notch Wrestling. His nickname was "The Hangman", derived from his finishing move in the ring.

During Top Notch Wrestling's stop for their show in Brimson, Missouri, Larry has a match with rookie Shawn "The Electric" Harley. During the match, Shawn accuses Larry of being drunk. Larry ignores him, already having the upper hand in their match. He goes on to perform his finisher by placing a noose around Shawn's neck. Shawn panics as the noose tightens a little too much as he's hoisted up into the air.

After the match, Larry opens his locker, noticing that his noose is missing. He asks if anyone has seen it, just before Shawn appears to confront him about going too far with his finisher, telling him that he almost died in the ring. Gunnar Lawless appears to defuse the argument, and Shawn scoffs, calling Larry a "wino" and pointing out that the "old-timers" like to stick together. After warning Gunnar to keep Larry "on a leash", he leaves the locker room.

Eventually, Larry is alone in the locker room. As he packs his bags and takes a swig from his whiskey flask, the lights suddenly go out. His missing noose descends and wraps around his neck. Larry is hoisted off his feet and left hanging from the ceiling. With no one in the vicinity to help, Larry chokes to death.

At his wake, Larry's fellow wrestlers pay their respects. Sam and Dean Winchester also show up, wanting to pay their respects to their father's favorite wrestler. Larry's promoter, Rio—who Larry had known for 25 years—goes on to tell Sam that Larry's official cause of death was suicide. However, it is later revealed that Gunnar had killed Larry under the orders of his crossroads demon, Duke.
