|Location||Lily Dale, New York|
|Episode(s)||7.07 The Mentalists|
Melanie, granddaughter of Grandma Goldy, tours and performs as a psychic, although she admits she just reads body language, and doesn't believe in psychic phenomena. She is friends with Camille Thibodeaux.
Sam and Dean interview Melanie following the death of her grandmother. She tells them that the necklace her grandmother wore was willed to her by Imelda Graven (another victim), and is now with Emporium owner Jimmy Tomorrow.
After her friend, Camille Thibodeaux, has a vision of her death, she calls on Dean to help her. They see a ghost captured on Camille's closed circuit video. Dean uses this to identify her in a picture at the Lily Dale museum. He and Sam dig up her bones; she appears and pleads with them, "Why won't anyone listen to me?" just before they destroy her.
Dean calls Melanie, who is with Camille, to say they have destroyed Kate Fox. Melanie invites Camille to come and stay with her for a few days. They return to Camille's place, where Margaret Fox appears and kills her. Realizing Kate is not the killer, Sam and Dean dig up Margaret's grave but find it empty. They realize someone has taken her bones in order to bind the ghost. Dean stays with Melanie to protect her as she is the next likely target, while Sam returns to visit Jimmy Tomorrow to find any customer who has bought items necessary to bind a ghost. Jimmy misdirects him to a house where a Lamaze class is being held. Meanwhile Margaret attacks Dean and Melanie.
Realizing he's been duped, Sam returns and finds Margaret's skull on an altar and he confronts Jimmy. Jimmy has a gun, but Sam takes it from him, until Jimmy uses his telekinetic power to reclaim it. Jimmy reveals that Margaret is happy to kill for him, as her abilities were overlooked in her lifetime. Sam threatens him, but Jimmy refuses to let Sam destroy Margaret's bones, and Sam draws his own gun and shoots Jimmy. He finds Margaret's bones in Jimmy's bed and salts and burns them, destroying the ghost as she's attacking Melanie.
The next day Melanie finds Dean in a cafe and thanks him, and tells him that Camille's death isn't his fault.
