History

Shawn Russo was a lawyer in Chester, Pennsylvania. His great-grandparents from Calabria were supposed to have died during the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. However, in the timeline where Balthazar un-sank the Titanic in order to create 50,000 new souls for Castiel's army, Shawn's ancestors survived and made it to America safely, allowing him to eventually be born.

When three members of the same family die within a week of each other under strange circumstances, Sam and Dean investigate. Dean poses as a student from the genealogy department from the local university to interview a cousin of the people who have died, Shawn Russo. Shawn tells Dean he's busy and that he's not very close with his family and that they're simply a big family from Italy. He mistakes Dean's warning as a threat and promptly throws him out of his office.

The next day, Sam and Dean attempt to talk to Shawn, who is walking down the street talking on his cell phone. They save him from getting hit by a van, but Shawn is far from grateful. He tells them to leave him alone and threatens to sue them just before a speeding bus hits him, killing him instantly.
