The length of time it takes for them to return appears to be based on their personal power as one demon returned in a matter of months<ref name="two14" /> while another took five years.<ref name="twelve06" /> In another case, a demon that had been put into lockdown deep in Hell for spilling "state secrets" wasn't able to return from being exorcised until he was specifically summoned.<ref name="seven15">[[7.15 Repo Man]]</ref>
