The participants are then transported to Hell in a flash of light. A purple flame will burn in the bowl, and must be continually fed, for if it is extinguished, those that traveled to Hell will be trapped there.
It is unclear how the participants initiate the journey back but they are shown to reappear in a burst of purple flames, similar to the flame in the spell bowl. Once they return, the fire in the bowl is immediately extinguished.
