History
In 4.17 It's A Terrible Life, Zachariah subsequently places Dean and Sam Winchester into a line of work without their memories. Zachariah acts as Dean's manager and employer who is affiliated with the company. Near the end of the episode, however, he reveals himself as being a direct superior of Castiel. He explains that Dean has always been destined to be a hunter and is needed to do something special, and that he has been deployed (possibly by Michael) because of the situation with Uriel in 4.16 On The Head Of A Pin and claims that he is here to make sure that the seals don't break.
Later in 4.18 The Monster At The End Of This Book, after the confrontation between Lilith and Sam and the intervention of an Archangel on Chuck's behalf, Zachariah appears before Chuck Shurley and tells him to continue writing, and warns him not to alert Sam and Dean, and that the angels will revive him if he commits suicide.
In 5.16 Dark Side Of The Moon, after Dean and Sam die and go to Heaven, Zachariah searches for them so that he can resurrect them so they can serve as the Vessels of Michael and Lucifer. Zachariah tells them that he has four faces (one of which is a lion) and six wings in his true form in Heaven. He begins beating them up but is interupted by Joshua whold bears God's permission and takes the boys to the Garden of Eden and revives them, sending them back to Earth.

In 5.18 Point Of No Return, after the resurrections of Dean and Sam, Zachariah gets removed from the Host but is given a final chance to secure Dean for Michael. Zachariah laters expresses his prideful nature and is out-witted by Dean, and gets stabbed by an Angel Killing Sword through the throat.
