Emmanuel's wife Daphne may be a reference to Daphne from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby-Doo Scooby-DooDaphne Daphne], a nymph in Greek mythology who was unwillingly pursued by Apollo. Dean mentioned Out of desperation, Daphne prayed to be turned into a laurel tree so as to escape his advances. As her in [[2.11 Playthings]]"marriage" to Emmanuel is not referred to again after this episode, this could allude to her marriage as a ruse to ward off suitors.
