|Episode(s)||4.18 The Monster at the End of This Book|
The former and now-bankrupt publisher of Supernatural book series, "Flying Wiccan Press: Publishers of Quality Science Fiction and Graphic Novels," was run by Sera Siege. She felt that the books were being misjudged, and wished for the series to continue on. As a publisher she knew Carver Edlund's real name -- Chuck Shurley.
After learning their lives have been the basis for a series of paperback novels, Sam and Dean find Sera's address and pay her a visit. Not believing Sam and Dean to be legit fans of the series, they reveal their anti-possession symbol tattoos to the publisher to demonstrate they are real fans after having also demonstrated knowledge of various other facts from the series (such as the make of the car, Sam's birthday, and Dean's favorite songs). Sera then reveals her own tattoo (on her bum) and gives them Chuck Shurley's address.
- Keegan Connor Tracy previously played Karen Giles in 2.07 The Usual Suspects and later Witch Mother in 15.06 Golden Time.
- While not named in the episode, the publisher's name was Sera Siege, named after writers Julie Siege and Sera Gamble -- as mentioned in this interview with Sera Gamble.
- In an interview with Firefox News in March 2008 Sera Gamble said "I'll be convinced we're truly a cult hit when a fan gets the same tattoo." Many fans already had!
