Yeager was one of the men who joined Future Dean on an errand into an open quarantine zone. On their way out, they were ambushed by Croatoans and Yeager was infected. Future Dean noticed symptoms of the disease on their way back to camp. Once they got there, Future Dean shared a beer with Yeager before shooting him dead.
