Quotes

Dean: House rules, Sammy. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole.

Sam: I swore I was done hunting for good.
Dean: Come on, it wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t that bad.
Sam: Yeah? When I told dad when I was scared of the thing in my closet he gave me a 45.
Dean: Well what was he supposed to do?
Sam: I was 9 years old. He was supposed to say “Don’t be afraid of the dark.”
Dean: Don’t be afraid of the dark? What are you kidding me of course you should be afraid of the dark! You know what’s out there!

Dean: You can pretend all you want, Sammy. But sooner or later you're going to have to face up to who you really are.
Sam: Who is that?
Dean: One of us.

Sam: What the hell are you doing here?
Dean: I was looking for a beer.
Sam: Dean…what the hell are you doing here?
Dean: Okay, all right. We gotta talk.
Sam: Um... the phone?
Dean: If I woulda called you would you have picked up?

Dean: Dad hasn’t been home in a few days.
Sam: So he’s working overtime on a Miller Time shift. He’ll stumble back in sooner or later.
Dean: Dad’s on a hunting trip and he hasn’t been home in a few days.

Dean: I can’t do this alone.
Sam: Yes you can.
Dean: Well I don’t want to.

Dean: I love the Smurfs. You know I gotta tell you, you are completely out of my brother’s league.
Jess: Just let me put something on.
Dean: No no no. I wouldn’t dream of it... seriously.

Dean: So what are you gonna do? just live some normal, apple pie life? Is that it?
Sam: No. not normal. Safe
Dean: And that’s why you ran away?
Sam: I was just going to college

Sam: So what’s the theory?
Ranger Wilkinson: Seriously? We don’t know. Serial murder, kidnapping ring...
Dean: Well, that’s exactly the kinda crack police work I’d expect outta you guys.

References

The Bradys and the Huxtables

Friend: "How does it feel to be the golden boy in your family?
Sam: Ah, they don’t know.
Friend: Don’t know? I would be gloating! Why not?
Sam: Cause we’re not exactly the Bradys.
Friend: And I’m not exactly the Huxtables."

Sam is referring to the family in the tv show The Brady Bunch {TV-Series 1969-1974}, a large patchwork family that stands for the ultimate American middle class family.

His friend, who is black, mentions its 80’s black equivalent, The Cosby Show {TV-Series 1984-1992}, in which a successful African American family, the Huxtables, are portrayed.

The Smurfs

Dean: {Acknowledging the nightshirt Jess is wearing} "I love the Smurfs."

The Smurfs (TV-Series 1981-1990) was a cartoon-series about little blue creatures living in mushroom houses in the woods. Jessica is wearing a shirt that shows Smurfette – she’s the only female smurf, and she’s quite slutty in behavior as well as looks (she has blonde curls and wears a dress that looks a bit like a baby doll).

The X-Files

Dean: {Speaking to two police agents} "Thank You. Agent Mulder, Agent Scully."

The X-Files {TV-Series 1993-2002} was a sci-fi/horror series about two FBI agents (Agents Fox Mulder & Dana Scully) who investigated paranormal and unexplained cases.
