Synopsis
In a forest in South Carolina, a distressed Eileen is being chased by hellhound. When she reaches a small clearly she steadies her weapon and begins blindly firing into the open, until she is soon mauled by the hellhound, which is being controlled by Mr. Ketch, who calls it off of Eileen as he approaches her lifeless body.
Entering a motel room, Sam and Dean search for Mary in her last known location. Concluding from her absence she must be with the British Men of Letters, Dean makes a phone call to Ketch inquiring her whereabouts; Ketch denies knowing her location. Sam then gets a phone call from Sheriff Jody Mills, in which she informs him of Eileen’s brutal demise. The brothers realize something twisted must be occurring since so many American hunters are being killed and begin to worry for their mother.
In South Carolina, Sam and Dean identify Eileen’s body, and piece together that her death was by a hellhound, assuming a demon must be to blame. Their worry grows for Mary and other hunters, becoming angry for not having an answer to the problem. At his palace, Crowley directs tumultuous orders to a demon to find Kelly Kline for him. The demon relays Dagon, Kelly’s captor and Prince of Hell, is dead and that Lucifer’s son is almost due, to which Crowley suggests this should only make the demon’s job of finding Kelly easier.
A hunter named Rick arrives home to find Mary sitting in his living room chair. Having previously worked together, they begin to shoot the breeze and as he goes to grab a beer for her, notices Mary sneaking up behind him to attack. He tries to defend himself, yet is ultimately defeated by her knife cutting his throat. Mary is awakened covered in sweat in a British Men of Letters locked room. Lady Bevell waltzes in, and through the proceeding questioning from her to Bevell, Mary realizes she is being brainwashed by the British Men of Letters. Elsewhere at the BMOL compound, Crowley appears before Dr. Hess, attempting to update his current negotiations, ensuring they have the same deal in the U.S. as they do in the UK regarding Crowley's operations. All goes accordingly until she asks him to give up the Winchester brothers, to which he looks conflicted.
Drexel sneaks into Lucifer's holding room, where he tells Lucifer it won’t be much longer until he is freed. Crowley, back from his meeting with Hess is discussing hellhounds with Sam, ensuring him no demons have been using them to attack hunters. Walking into Lucifer’s cell, he begins to taunt Lucifer, by informing him of Dagon’s death, Kelly being under the protection of Castiel, and Crowley’s goal to raise Lucifer’s child himself.
Outside of a post office, Dean opens a letter written by Eileen to the brothers. From the letter’s contents, Sam and Dean realize the British Men of Letters are to blame for her death as well as the other mysterious hunter deaths. Back at the Bunker, the boys search for bugs planted; finding one beneath the grand mapped table. Acting unaware, Sam and Dean give fake knowledge and a location for the next night in hopes of discovering their enemies.
As Drexel attempts to shut down the warding imprisoning Lucifer in his vessel, he soon realizes that powering down the spell work has caused the polarity to shift giving Lucifer control over Crowley, much to Lucifer's delight.
Back at the British Men of Letters headquarters, Bevell and Ketch discuss an advanced ranking job opening with each other, find out they are both competing for same position. Ketch is told to see Mary, upon entering her room, Mary seems wrecked. She approaches him slowly as she asks him questions about their control over her. Still approaching him, she grabs his gun and fires a shot at wall behind him; he regains control over firearm, and she is left in room sobbing with her knees on the floor.
Baby pulls up to the location Sam and Dean convinced British Men of Letters to arrive; Sam is seen entering the building with agents following. Trapping the BMOL members inside, the brothers then stop Lady Bevell via gun point, who was watching from comforts of her car. Crowley enters Lucifer’s holding room and the tables get turned. Lucifer mocks Crowley by making faces when he talks, which escalates to Lucifer standing up and demonstrating his new power over Crowley, making him hop on one foot. Lady Bevell is shown being transported by Sam and Dean, seated in the back of Baby. She tells them their loved ones, including Claire and Jody, will soon be killed. Now freed, Lucifer throws Crowley around his his throne room, cuts him with an angel blade before throwing him down and stabbing him in the chest. Right before being stabbed however, Crowley stealthily possesses the body of a nearby rat, saving himself from certain death.
Sam, Dean and Lady Bevell walk down the Bunker steps, soon seeing a few British Men of Letters agents awaiting them. A gun fight quickly ensues and Sam and Dean are able to subdue the Brits. While holding Ketch at gun point, Mary appears. The boys assume she would help them, instead she fires a warning shot at Dean, proving her loyalties are with the British Men of Letters. Upon leaving the Bunker, Ketch betrays Lady Bevell and makes her stay with Sam and Dean. He then informs them of having triggered the Bunker locks, shut off the water and is leaving them trapped with limited oxygen. Driving back to the compound, Ketch assures Mary it will become easier to kill the ones she loves in time.
Finally freed, Lucifer stands atop a mountain, arms outstretched, smiling.

Quotes
Dean: Good. Hold on to that, 'cause it look like we got a hellhound to deal with. Which means...
Mary: How do you-
Lucifer: Mm. As opposed to the fun-packed death you have planned.
Mr. Ketch: I'm not sure what you're expecting. That I'll intervene? We made it clear to each other, we don't have a relationship.
Lady Bevell: Probably. Rule of thumb – if you think we killed someone, then we probably did. Speaking of, you do realize that by attacking me, you invite the retribution of the entire British Men of Letters? No investigation, no trial. Just punishment and ruin. Possibly at the hands of Mary Winchester.
Mary: Easier... to hurt people I love?
