"Tombstone" is a reference to the 1993 film of the same name about the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral that took place October 26, 1881, in Tombstone, Arizona.

Dean is Agent Russell (for Kurt Russell, who played Wyatt Earp), Sam is Agent Elliot (for Sam Elliott, who played Virgil Earp), Castiel is Agent Kilmer (for Val Kilmer, who played Doc Holliday), and Jack is Agent Paxton (for Bill Paxton, who played Morgan Earp).
