|Synopsis=
+
Following the memories that resurfaced in 6.13 Unforgiven, Sam has collapsed. Dean frantically tries to rouse him while Sam suffers through flashbacks of Hell. He recovers after a few minutes that feel like a week in his mind, and Dean is adamant that Sam take seriously the harm that remembering anything from the last 18 months could do to him. Sam reluctantly agrees. By way of a distraction, Dean has found a case—a janitor named Steve has been found dead in a locked lab at the Great Falls Junior College in Paterson, New Jersey.
+
+
The Winchesters investigate the scene but have no leads when a similar incident occurs. A nightwatchman, Dave, dies at the Salzman & Sons Apparel factory in nearby Passaic. Walking around the factory floor, Sam notices the EMF meter detects readings near a mannequin, as it also did near an anatomy dummy at the lab. Sam suggests that a ghost may have possessed the figures, but the boys are confused because ghosts are usually tied to a particular area. Further research reveals that an employee named Rose Brown went missing a year ago.
+
+
Dean receives a call from Ben, asking for his help because Lisa is depressed and locked in her room. Sam convinces Dean to go, while he heads off to interview Isabel Brown, the missing woman's sister.
+
+
At the Braeden house, when Lisa opens the door dressed for a date, Dean realizes Ben has tricked him. He and Lisa talk, struggling to deal with the fact that despite their feelings for each other, it seems impossible for their relationship to work. Finally, she asks him what he wants, and Dean has no reply. When he talks to Ben, Dean explains that he thinks he is a bad influence and that being in their lives will inevitably lead Ben to a life of hunting. Ben is upset, and charges Dean with abandoning his family. Again, Dean has no reply. As he drives away from their house and back to Sam, Dean remembers the times he's had with Lisa and Ben.
+
+
In Passaic, Sam speaks to Isabel Brown. She describes her sister, Rose, as quiet and shy - the sort of girl who was an easy target for teasing and pranks. Leafing through a photo album, Sam realizes that the janitor from Paterson also used to work at Salzman & Sons. Back at the factory, Sam interviews workers, and one in particular—Johnny—seems very nervous. That night, Johnny is attacked, but Sam is there to intervene. He confesses to Sam that he and some workmates bullied Rose by leading her to believe she had a secret admirer. When she arrived at an apartment for a supposed date, they revealed the prank, and, as she went to leave, Steve grabbed her and she fell, hitting her head on a coffee table and dying.

|Synopsis=
+
Sam finds out where they buried the body and heads off to salt and burn Rose's corpse. He calls Johnny, telling him the haunting is over, but he is mistaken. That night Johnny returns to his apartment and explains to his Real Doll that he is going to leave town, but she becomes animated by Rose's ghost and kills him.

+
At a loss, Sam speaks to Isabel, and she reveals that she had one of Rose's kidneys transplanted into her when she was 16. As a result, Rose's spirit can move around, able to go wherever Isabel does. Sam drives Isabel to meet with Dean, and the brothers try to figure out a way to put Rose's spirit to rest. Sam suggests Hoodoo as a temporary solution, but, as they discuss the option, the Impala revs up. Rose has possessed the Impala, and she tries to run Dean over. He manages to maneuver it into a wall, but Isabel is fatally injured in the resulting crash. As she dies, the spirit of Rose appears and apologizes before disappearing in flames.
+
+
Back at Bobby's place, Dean works on the Impala. When Sam brings him a beer, Dean notes that the case was hardly a victory. Sensing how dispirited Dean is, Sam points out they still save lives now and again. And their luck isn't all bad: they stopped Lucifer, and Dean got Sam's soul back. "Thanks," says Sam. "For what it's worth, I've got your back." And Dean smiles.

Synopsis

Following the memories that resurfaced in 6.13 Unforgiven, Sam has collapsed. Dean frantically tries to rouse him while Sam suffers through flashbacks of Hell. He recovers after a few minutes that feel like a week in his mind, and Dean is adamant that Sam take seriously the harm that remembering anything from the last 18 months could do to him. Sam reluctantly agrees. By way of a distraction, Dean has found a case—a janitor named Steve has been found dead in a locked lab at the Great Falls Junior College in Paterson, New Jersey.

Dean receives a call from Ben, asking for his help because Lisa is depressed and locked in her room. Sam convinces Dean to go, while he heads off to interview Isabel Brown, the missing woman's sister.

Quotes

Dean: It's not a joke. Your life is on the line here, Sam. This is not a debate. I mean, first you were a-a soulless dickbag, and now you're not. So we good?
Sam: Yeah. Sure.
Dean: Check it out. This thing's friggin' awesome! Be my valentine.

Sam: Dude, we're working. Put it back.

Dean: Have a heart.
Sam: Wait. That anatomy dummy you were molesting at the lab.

Dean: Excuse me?
Sam: What if that's what this is about?
Dean: What exactly are you accusing me of?

Sam: I don't mean that. I mean, there was an anatomy dummy there, and here...
Sam: Dude, you got to leave.

Dean: Yeah, but we're talking life or death here.

Sam: Right. I can handle it for 24 hours, Dean. I get you want to bury it. But I had to deal with my past year. You got to deal with yours.
Lisa: Go to your room! You know, I... I can't. Ask for something. I know what I want. But I can't have it -- not how you live. My phone rings, I think -- tiny chance it's you, big chance it's Sam calling to tell me you're dead.

Dean: Lis...

Lisa: No, don't. Don't apologize or anything. It's just... it's just I get to this place where I'm okay, and then you show up at our door. You keep doing that, every time I think I'm never gonna see you again. I'm trying to get over you. What are you trying to do? What do you want from us, Dean?
Johnny: What's going on?
Sam: That was a ghost trying to kill you for being a dick.
Dean: So, that the girl with the haunted kidney?

Sam: Yeah.

Dean: Well, just when you think you seen it all.
Dean: Well, considering she got carjacked by poltergeist, could be worse. I mean, what exactly did we do back there, Sam?

Sam: Yeah, I'm not putting it in the win column, either.

Dean: We saved a few dicks, a-a-and we killed an innocent girl. I got a heartbroken kid and a woman who's so pissed at me... I see what you mean about facing your past. It's, uh -- it's awesome. Thanks.
Sam: That's not true. We do save lives, now and again.

Dean: Yeah, I guess. I'm just... I'm just tired of all the bad luck, you know?

Sam: Well, you know, number one, bad luck is kind of in the job description. And two, it's not all bad. Really. Look at me. I mean, at least Satan's left the building.
Sam: I mean it. Look, we keep our heads down, keep swinging. We'll lose some. Hopefully, we'll win more. And...I don't know. Anyway, for what it's worth, I got your back.
Dean: Yeah, I know.

Trivia & References

The episode title "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning" refers to the 1987 movie Mannequin starring Andrew McCarthy and Kim Catrall about an artist who creates a mannequin that comes to life when possessed by an ancient Egyptian. There was a 1991 sequel called Mannequin Two: On the Move.
Dean: I'm serious. And none of this 'it's just a flesh wound' crap. 'Cause we did it your way. We let you go explore, and every bad thing that I said would happen happened. So guess what -- past stays past. We're not kicking that wall again.
"It's just a flesh wound" is a line from the 1975 movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Black Knight refuses to let Arthur pass and so they must do battle. When Arthur succeeds in cutting off his arm, the Black Knight insists that the amputation is a flesh wound and that he will still be victorious. The battle progresses until the Black Knight is left without any limbs, and he insists that he'll bite Arthur's knees off as Arthur passes him, unscathed.
Sam: Where we off to?

Dean: Paterson, New Jersey. Hey, maybe we'll have a Snooki sighting.
Sam: What's a Snooki?
Dean: That's a good question.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi featured on the reality TV show Jersey Shore. Lucky for Sam he has no memory of the time when she became celebrity.
When the episode aired Snooki tweeted about the mention @Sn00ki "Supernatural gave me a shout out?! i LOVE that show. #win" (Source). She later appeared on the show as a crossroads demon in 9.16 Blade Runners.
Sam: What's wrong with just talking to her, Dean?

Dean: Thanks, Dr. Laura, that's very insightful. Look at that, our times up.

Laura Schlessinger had a radio program called The Dr. Laura Program, where she would give callers personal advice.
Dean: Whoa. Ghosts gone wild. Something's up in here.
A reference to Girls Gone Wild. Girls Gone Wild videos usually involve a camera crew patrolling an area frequented by young attractive women, such as vacation resorts and nightclubs. The crews search for women who will agree to expose their bodies for the camera.
Dean: Sam, good news: Big Brother's watching.
Big Brother is a fictional character in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the society that Orwell describes, everyone is under complete surveillance by the authorities, mainly by telescreens. The people are constantly reminded of this by the phrase "Big Brother is watching you," which is the core "truth" of the propaganda system.
Dean: Hey. So, what'd you find out from the, uh, mop jockey's girlfriend?

Sam: Nothing. Just how great he was -- went to church, donated to charity, rubbed her feet during Glee.

Glee is a musical comedy-drama television series that aired on Fox in the United States. It focuses on the high school glee club New Directions.
Dean: Built in '05. Nothing weird about the land. Before this, the biggest mishap was some genius accidentally spilled sulfuric acid on his crotch. They don't even dissect anything good in there. Anything bigger than Kermit, they use an iPad.
Frogs are often dissected during biology classes, hence the reference to the famous Muppet. The iPad is a tablet computer designed, developed and marketed by Apple primarily as a platform for audio-visual media including books, periodicals, movies, music, games, and web content.
Dean: You're joking. You're not joking. Okay, uh, so, what, we've got -- we've got a bunch of killer dolls like... Chucky? I mean, come on, that's -- that's just... Friggin' creepy.
Chucky was the villain of the Child's Play series of movies. In the films, Chucky is a serial killer, who transfer's his soul into that of toy doll which wrecks murderous havoc through five movies.
Dean: I suppose. But riddle me this, bat boy -- ghosts aren't exactly known for hopping county lines, right?
"Riddle me this" is the catchphrase of Batman villain the Riddler.
Dean: So we dig. Over there. I don't like the way Kim Cattrall's lookin' at me.
In the 1987 movie Mannequin, Kim Catrall played the mannequin.
Dean: We've been Parent Trapped.
The Parent Trap was a 1961 movie, remade in 1998 in which a pair of twins separated at birth plot to get their parents reunited.
Dean: Well, that's ridiculous. Plants could never kill a zombie.
Ben is playing the game Plants vs. Zombies.
Dean: Okay, so what are you suggesting, that we cut it out of her?

Sam: And then what? Leave her in a tub of ice with a phone taped to her hand?

Sam is referring to a famous urban legend about the harvesting of kidneys. In the legend, someone has their drink spiked, and when they wake up they are in a tub of ice, with a phone strapped to their hand, and a note to call 911. When the do the operator asks them if there is a tube coming out of their back. When the victim confirms that there is, the operator sends paramedics, who find that the victims kidneys have been removed. This legend is also the punchline to the famous Charlie the Unicorn video.
Sam and Dean previously dealt with a supernatural organ thief, Doc Benton, who treated his victims in a similar manner.
Although it is not explicitly mentioned in the episode, the scene where the Impala is possessed and attacks Dean, parallels the plot of the Stephen King novel and movie Christine, about a supernaturally possessed car which attacks people. The car in that story was a 1958 Plymouth Fury.

Minutiae

This is the only episode in season six that features a vengeful spirit.
The first death takes place at Great Falls Junior College, Paterson, New Jersey. The second occurs at Salzman & Sons Apparel factory in Passaic, New Jersey. The third occurs in an apartment above McOwens bar in Passaic.
The three murderous dolls are 1) an anatomy dummy 2) a mannequin 3) a Real Doll.
Lisa's phone number is (1)616-555-0231. The 616 area code covers part of western Michigan.
Dean offers Sam the anatomy dummy's heart, saying "Be my Valentine?" He did this with a human heart while they were in the morgue during 5.14 My Bloody Valentine.
The Impala has been influenced by ghosts before. In 1.01 Pilot, Constance Welch possesses the Impala and tries to run both Sam and Dean over. She later takes control of the Impala again and makes Sam drive her home. In 2.16 Roadkill, Dean drives through Jonah Greely's ghost and the Impala then loses all power.
Rose could be a reference to Rose Tyler from the TV show Doctor Who. Doctor Who's first episode since being reborn in 2005 is titled "Rose", which features animated mannequins that attack people.
