Synopsis
Benny is working at a small Cajun diner in Carencro, Louisiana. It's late at night and, after his coworker Elizabeth leaves, one of the customers remarks that she's a hell of a girl. Benny, who's going by the name Roy, tells the customer that she's like a little sister to him. Another customer asks for a refill on his coffee, and Benny obliges. He doesn't recognize him, but it is Martin Creaser: a hunter that Dean and Sam have worked with before. Alone, Benny closes the diner, and Martin follows him as he walks home through the woods. Martin loses track of him for a moment and then hears a scream. He pulls out a machete and runs toward the sound, but trips and falls next to a dead body. It's the other customer from the diner, and his neck has been torn open.
Martin calls Sam to let him know what he saw. Sam tells him not to do anything yet and then tells Dean that they need to go to Louisiana and take care of Benny. He's had Martin tracking Benny for the last week, and Martin saw him kill someone. Dean is upset that Sam asked Martin, who was only recently released from an insane asylum, to go anywhere near a hunt, but admits that they should look into it. They drive down to Carencro and meet Martin at his motel room. Martin tells them that Benny, aka Roy, has been working at a gumbo shack and clean up until he found the dead customer. When Dean learns that Martin didn't actually see Benny kill anyone, he's reluctant to believe the worst of his friend. Martin is shocked that Dean would trust a Vampire, and even more shocked when Sam gives Dean a few hours to investigate things on his own.
After Dean leaves in the Impala, Sam tells Martin that it's not always easy to see things clearly. He remembers a moment with Amelia at their home in Kermit, Texas. Sam had asked her what she planned to say to her husband Don when she saw him again, and she'd been conflicted. He had said that he didn't want to give up on their relationship, and Amelia had seemed to agree with him before saying that she needed to clear her head.
