History
The Baozhu was a pearl and one of eight ancient Chinese treasures. It had the power to grant wishes by giving a person their heart's desire. Destruction of the pearl will lead to all wishes/desires being reversed.

Dean wishes on the Baozhu in the hope of ridding Michael from his mind, but instead it summons John Winchester from 2003. The disruption to the time line starts to manifest -- there is evidence that Dean is still hunting but is wanted by the FBI, and that Sam is an internet-famous corporate lawyer.
