Belphegor is a demon who was released from Hell when Chuck opened all the doors. A self-described "clock puncher," Belphegor enjoyed his work punishing the souls that entered Hell and wishes for things to go back to normal after the mass breakout. This results in him offering his services to the Winchesters and Castiel.
Belphegor is also a fan of Dean Winchester's from when he spent his time in Hell and tortured under Alastair. He calls what Dean did "more than torture", telling him how he thought it was art.
