Big Name Fan

A Big Name Fan (accr. BNF) is a fan who has, through their fan works, popularity or notoriety, their own fan following. In recent years, the term BNF has acquired a bad aftertaste, due to the often megalomaniacal and less-than-modest behavior of certain fans. Some even claim that the term "Big Name Fan" has become a sort of four-letter word.
The size and diversity of the Supernatural fandom means BNFs tend to occur within sub-sections of fandom, rather than across the fandom as a whole.
