History
Captain Larry James is one of the only African American Texas Rangers. While Cordell Walker was away on the undercover assignment, he was promoted to Captain of the Texas Rangers. James used to be partners with Cordell and knows how to get things done and solve crimes. James is more than just the boss and former partner, he is a friend. James is caring and wants to prove his worth. Like Micki, he wants to make a difference. James is also close with Cordell's entire family. James looks out for the people around him.
