After the death of her father, Cassie places a call to Dean seeking his help as she believes the death to be supernatural in nature. When Sam and Dean arrive in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Cassie relates to them what happened to her father. She tells them that her father said he was seeing thing, and that a [[Racist Truck|black truck]] was following him, and that it would "appear and disappear." She tells them that this black truck was behind her father's and his friend, Clayton Soames, deaths, having driven them off the road. Soon after talking with Sam and Dean, Cassie's editor -- [[Jimmy Anderson]] is run down by the truck. Cassie goes to Mayor [[Harold Todd]] in an attempt to get him to close that section of road down so no one else will be hurt, but Mayor Todd remains unconvinced by her pleas.
