On 23rd September 2019 it was reported that Jared had his first post ''Supernatural'' project lined up -- a reboot of the '90s action procedural series ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walker,_Texas_Ranger Walker, Texas Ranger]'' that starred Chuck Norris. Coincidentally, in [[6.18 Frontierland]] Sam used the alias "Walker, Texas Ranger"! The original series ran for eight seasons from 1993 to 2001, and was moderately successful throughout its run.

According to publicity, the series, which will be called ''Walker'', would "focus on Cordell Walker as he returns from years undercover. A widower and father of two, he begins fighting crime with a new partner, who is one of the only female Rangers in history." Walker and his partner will be "the modern day heroes our world needs, following their own moral code to fight for what’s right, regardless of the rules." The show will be set, and film, in Austin where Jared and his family live.

Walker got off to a great start with the premiere attracting an audience that makes it the highest rated show on the CW for the time slot in four years. The CW has shown its faith in the series by extending its Season 1 order from 13 to 18 episodes, and already locking it in for Season 2. This is such a testament to the work of Jared, showrunner Anna Fricke and all the cast and crew.
