Walker Season 2 News

Walker got off to a great start with the Season One premiere attracting an audience that makes it the highest rated show on the CW for the time slot in four years. The CW has shown its faith in the series on on 4 February 2021, by extending its Season 1 order from 13 to 18 episodes, and already locking it in for Season 2. This is such a testament to the work of Jared, showrunner Anna Fricke and all the cast and crew.

Synopsis for the Season 2 premiere which will air on 28 October:

Walker realizes his life is at risk and confronts Captain James who confesses to him the real reason Micki went undercover. Meanwhile, the Davidsons return home which sets Abeline on edge as there is dark history between the two families. Trey almost blows Micki’s cover. Steve Robin directed the episode written by Seamus Kevin Fahey & Anna Fricke.

• Odette Annable who plays Geri Broussard has been promoted to a series regular for Season 2 and will be joined by her husband Dave Annable who will be playing Dan Miller. Dan is fiercely loyal to the Davidson family and very protective of his wife. He has taken on the Davidsons’ distrust of the Walkers and is clearly not going to settle into Austin without a fight.

• Lindsay Morgan who plays Micki Ramirez has announced that she will leave the show during the season for personal reasons saying "“This decision was entirely my choice and I am overwhelmed with gratitude to all those involved for their full support and compassion,” she added. “I have only been treated with the upmost respect, kindness and appreciation from this cast, crew, production, writing team, network and studio. Walker was one of the safest, professional and joyful sets that I’ve ever experienced and it was truly a privilege to create with such gems of human beings.”

Jared said "“Lindsey is a wonderful person, inside and out. I am proud of, and grateful for, her work on Walker. Moreover, I’m honored to consider her a friend.”

Walker Season 3

• Walker received an early renewal for Season 3 on March 22, 2022.

Walker: Independence

Announced on 8 December 2021, this series is a Walker prequel set in the 1800s. The series to be called Walker: Independence. The series is fromWalker creator/executive producer/showrunner Anna Fricke and executive producers Seamus Fahey, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore. The show is described as follows:

Abby Walker, is an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins, a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter diverse, eclectic residents running from their own troubled pasts and chasing their dreams. Our newfound family will struggle with the changing world around them, while becoming agents of change themselves in a town where nothing is what it seems.

Of course, Abby Walker and Hoyt Rawlins are also the names of characters in Walker.

• Larry Teng has been named to direct the Pilot, and will also act as EP on the show. Filming began in February in New Mexico and finished on April 12.
