Dean's Leather Jacket has become an iconic part of the character. He even hides the Leviathan-killing bone inside one of the pockets with the fake bone in the other. While he is not shown wearing it after leaving Purgatory, the jacket is briefly seen in a flashback when he first meets [[Benny]] in Purgatory. When shown, it is very dirty due to Dean's time in Purgatory and was presumably lost somewhere along the way while escaping.

Dean's leather jacket has become an iconic part of the character. Before it belonged to Dean Winchester, it belonged to his father John Winchester -- so there's no telling how old the leather is, how many battles the jacket has actually seen, though it is well worn and beautiful. It was really Dean’s superhero signature look until its untimely demise.
