When Sam and Dean try and talk down a road worker that has gone "rabid", Jenna quickly acts and kills the would be attacker. On the defensive, she immediately demands to see Sam and Dean's necks to make sure they are not infected with the Darkness. Once satisfied they are human, Jenna goes on to tell them what happened at the scene. Noticing she is injured, Sam and Dean put her in the Impala, and head to the near by hospital. Once at the hospital, the group sees that whatever happened back at the road has affected the entire town, while Sam goes and searches the hospital, Dean takes Jenna to stitch her wound, and assures her what she did back at the road was the right thing.

When Sam brings Mike Schneider and his newborn daughter to the group and find out he is infected, Sam and Jenna stand against Dean who wants to kill him. Before a decision can be made Mike tells them he's not looking for a cure, he knows what is going to happen to him and just wants to save his daughter. He hands his daughter to trepidatious Jenna and goes off on his own to wait out the sickness. When another truckload of rabids arrive at the hospital, Sam offers to act as a distraction while Dean and Jenna make their escape from the hospital with the baby. As they reach the exit Mike confronts them having fully succumbed to the Darkness, and begins asking for the baby. With his last ounce of energy, he names his daughter Amara before he begins choking and eventually dies. At a gas station 40 miles outside of Superior, Jenna takes baby Amara to have her diaper changed. As she is dressing the baby back up she notices a tiny birth mark on body -- the Mark of Cain.

Later that night, while Jenna is sleeping she is awoken by a loud noise coming from Amara's room. Jenna and her grandmother investigate, and find Amara spinning blocks in the air and slamming them into the walls, spelling "Feed Me." Jenna is stopped from checking on the crying Amara by her grandmother, who believes that the baby is possessed, and wants to call a priest. Jenna attempts to talk her out of it, and places a call to Dean instead, who instantly turns around and heads back. When Dean arrives, Jenna warns him that her grandmother called her priest, who sent an exorcist to them, who much to Dean's surprise is Crowley.
