Donnie Finnerman was a local mechanic in the state of Maine.^{5.03 Free To Be You And Me} He became Raphael's vessel during a riot involving demons near a gas station. After resolving the situation, Raphael abandoned his vessel, returning to Heaven, leaving Donnie in a catatonic state. Donnie was taken to St Pete's Hospital. Castiel and Dean later go to the hospital and attempt to summon Raphael to Earth via an Enochian ritual. They place Donnie in the center of a ring of Holy Oil, trying to trap the archangel when he enters his vessel. They are unsuccessful at the hospital, but are then confronted by Raphael, in Donnie's body, at their hideout. Donnie's body is later destroyed by the effects of Lot's Salt.^{6.03 The Third Man}

The Vessel of Raphael

Donnie assents to possession and becomes Raphael's vessel at a local station in Maine. At the station, Raphael while occupying Donnie, decimates the station's structure and destroys many demons. After resolving the situation there, Raphael abandons his vessel and retreats to Heaven, which leaves Donnie in a catatonic-state.

Raphael later reclaims his vessel and converses with Castiel and Dean. After being interrogated, Raphael remains trapped within a Holy Fire circle. Shortly after the re-imprisonment of Lucifer and imprisonment of Michael in the Cage, Raphael eventually manages to escape the circle without damaging his vessel. He confronts Castiel but Balthazar later destroys Raphael’s vessel, Donnie, forcing the archangel out of his host.
