History
In the beginning there was the Darkness, and then God. God began to create worlds and beings but to satisfy himself and his sister. But for every world he would create, the Darkness would destroy it. Knowing that destroying the Darkness would cause a fatal disruption in the Cosmic Balance, God would eventually go on to create the archangels, and along with them would battled battle her until they finally managed to lock her away. Trusting the lock and key -- a special Mark -- to his most trusted son, Lucifer.
With his sister locked away, God, as Metatron put it, "got down to unfettered creation." He would go on to create the first beasts, the Leviathans. However, God became concerned at their destructiveness, and locked them away in Purgatory. Soon after He created the angels and their classes, crating the Host of Heaven. Hellhounds were created at some point to be "Creator's best friend," as Crowley put it, however their viciousness proved to be too much for God, which led to him having them all destroyed, except for one, Ramsey, who was rescued by Lucifer. Soon, God would create the soul, and would go on to gift it to humanity, dubbing them his most beautiful and loved creations. He then ordered all of His angels to bow before humanity and love them more than Him, but Lucifer refused to bow down, as the other angels did. The Mark eventually began asserting its own will, becoming the first curse, causing corrupting Lucifer to become corrupted and enhancing his jealously of man, causing his fall from grace. On God's command Lucifer was cast out of Heaven by Michaeland imprisoned in The Cage, but not before Lucifer created the first demons, even passing the mark to Cain.
Only the archangels have ever seen God, until God revealed himself to Metatron to take down the Word. The angel Joshua was the only known angel to have had conversations with Him prior to God revealing himself as Chuck Shurley to Metatron and the Winchesters. Even after revealing himself, he still prefers to be called "Chuck" as being called "God" and treated with praise makes him "deeply uncomfortable." At some point out of sheer disappointment in his creations, God left Heaven, after witnessing what nature could create on it's own, he began taking a hands-off approach. Michael assumed command of the angels, and then ran Heaven and Earth for millennia. Both Uriel and Raphael lost faith in their maker, stating that God must be dead, although most angels believed that He still existed.
Chuck says that he only interferes directly when things get apocalyptic on Earth. He offers his aid to the Winchesters as the prophet "Chuck Shurley" to prevent the Apocalypse from coming to pass. He hides in BG's Canteen when Amara is released, but Metatron convinced him to help the Winchesters stop his sister from destroying the universe. However, Amara manages to mortally wound Chuck, causing a disruption in the Cosmic Balance. Dean manages to convince Amara to put her rage aside and tell her brother what she really wants. After reconciling, Chuck and Amara leave to have a family meeting, but not before Chuck defuses the soul bomb from Dean's chest and Amara revives Mary Winchester as a gesture of thanks to Dean for giving her what she needed most. While there are alternate versions of Death, and the archangels, angels, demons and most humans in alternate universes such as Apocalypse World, Michael of Apocalypse World believed there was only one God and put forth a theory that when God realizes a world is flawed, he moves onto another universe and starts again.<refname="fourteen10">14.10 Nihilism</ref> His theory is proven to be true when Sam discovered that he has been manipulating everything in the Winchesters' lives as part of a sick story. Chuck even told Sam that of all the alternative versions of the Winchesters throughout the multiverse, Sam and Dean are his favorites because they are so interesting. He tried to trick them into killing Jack because he is scared of his grandson and it was how "the story" is supposed to end. When the Winchesters refuse to kill Jack and no longer want any part of his story, Chuck ultimately decides to kill Jack himself and release all the souls from Hell to kill them and end the world.
Characteristics
As one of the two earliest known beings in creation, along with his sister the Darkness, God is an nigh-omniscient and nigh-omnipotent being capable of feats such as healing, resurrection, teleportation... damn near anything. His only known weaknesses are his sister the Darkness, who is the only being in existence with the capability to mortally wound God. If God were to die, then there would be a shift in the Cosmic Balance which would lead to the end of all existence. It is also known that with strong enough warding, it is possible to hide oneself from even God, as evidenced by His and Amara's use of wards to stay hidden from each other; as well as Chuck being unable to sense a nearly human Gabriel who was using a potent cloaking spell made by the shaman Sergei, while he was hiding in Monte Carlo and being held prisoner by Asmodeus.
Powers and abilities
* Apporting – With a simple snap of his fingers, God is capable of teleporting anyone or thing anything to a destination of his choosing, as evidenced when he saved Sam and Dean from Lucifer's release, teleporting them on a plane.
* Cleansing – God was able to cleanse Sam of his demon blood addiction, as well as the town of Hope Springs, Idaho of a rabid infection.
* Creation – When the Darkness was locked away, God was able to create the universe as well as the various realms such as Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and many other alternate universes.
* Healing – God possesses the ability to heal any type of injury.
* Negation – God was able to render Lucifer powerless in the presence of Sam and Dean as a safeguard to prevent him from hurting the Winchesters.
* Power transference – Certain objects that God has come into contact with can become imbued with his power. These items are known as a Hand of God, and are highly destructive, and so powerful that if a human were to come into contact with one they would be annihilated by it's power.
* Prayer – God, like the angels, is capable of hearing all the prayers in the world. Though he rarely, if ever , answers them. * Protective Aura – God cast an aura of protection on Sam and Dean to prevent them from being harmed while they recruit their allies and adversaries to battle Amara. This aura can be detected by witches.
* Resurrection – God can bring anyone or anything back to life. Having "rebuilt" Castiel "more times than [He] can remember." However, archangels, being "the stuff of primordial creation" take more time and effort.
* Souls – While God created the soul, Chuck says he is unable to restore Jack's soul as souls are "complicated", even for Him. However, the veracity of His claim could neither be confirmed nor denied.
* Smiting – With the snap of his fingers, God can smite anything, including a Nephilim like Jack.
* Warding – While acting as the prophet Chuck Shurley, God was able to conceal himself from the angels, preventing Dean's Amulet from glowing white hot in his presence. This warding ability extended to God being able to conceal his location from even his sister, Amara.
* Telekinesis – When angered God showed the ability to throw Metatron clear across a room with no effortphysical gestures.
* Teleportation – God is capable of teleporting himself anywhere in existence.
14.20 Moriah
After being denied entrance to Hell to study the Cage by a demon, Castiel is surprised by Chuck's sudden appearance, who tells Cas he is responding to his prayer. Chuck soon takes Castiel to Sam and Dean at Mirror Universe, where the office has descended into chaos due to no one being able to lie anymore. In a conference room, Chuck tries to explain where he's been through song, but has His guitar smashed by Dean, and when Dean angrily demands to know where Chuck has been, it cause Chuck to raise His voice he snaps at Dean before quickly calming down and teleporting everyone to the Bunker.  He explains that he has been traveling all over the universe with Amara, who is currently in Reno, Nevada. Chuck undoes what Jack did, making it as if the chaos never happened. Chuck denies it, saying that Sam and Dean are his favorites because they're so interesting.
