History

Gwen Campbell is a hunter, and a third cousin related to Sam and Dean's mother Mary's side of the family. She follows the lead of Samuel Campbell while hunting, but does not seem to be fully aware of his conduct.

6.01 Exile on Main St.

When Dean is attacked by a djinn, Sam rescues him and reveals he has been back from Hell for a year and hunting with the Campbells including cousins Gwen Campbell, Christian Campbell, Mark Campbell, Johnny Campbell and grandfather Samuel Campbell. The Campbells go back to the house Dean is sharing with Lisa and Ben Braeden to catch the djinn, but when they realize the djinn are watching the house, Dean suggests they need to leave so they will attack.

6.02 Two and a Half Men

Gwen is at the compound with Samuel, Mark, and Christian when Dean and Sam arrive with the baby shapeshifter. According to Samuel, Christian and his wife, Arlene, have been trying for a baby. Christian agrees to take in and raise the baby shapeshifter, but the Alpha Shapeshifter appears, overpowers them, and takes the baby back.

6.07 Family Matters

When the Campbells go after the Alpha Vampire, Samuel orders Gwen to stay back with Dean and "sweep any stragglers" they flush out. She notes that Samuel often tries to keep her out of harm's way, possibly because she reminds him of his daughter, Mary. They fight well together, but Dean refuses to take her hand up when she decapitates a vampire that took him down. He then leaves her alone to investigate what the others are doing with the Alpha Vampire, but she still covers for the fact that he snuck off. Later she sides with Samuel against the Winchesters, holding them at gunpoint and forcing them to disarm when they are discovered talking to the imprisoned Alpha Vampire. Also, when it is revealed that Samuel has been working with Crowley, she still follows his orders and leaves with him.

6.16 ...And Then There Were None

Gwen is hunting with Samuel, investigating deaths related to a spike in the activity of supernatural creatures. While investigating the murders, they encounter Bobby, Rufus, Sam, and Dean at a cannery. Gwen tells Dean that she didn't know about Samuel betraying Sam and Dean to Crowley in 6.10 Caged Heat. While they are alone, the creature responsible for the deaths—the Khan worm—infects Dean and uses him to kill Gwen.
