Hoyt Rawlins is best known for being an outlaw that also seems to have a good heart that only certain people can see. Hoyt had a tough upbringing with his own family. Hoyt knows how to hustle , cheat, lie, and steal from people and will most of the time get his way. He has a friendship with Cordell Walker, which in the past he has saved. Hoyt has become an "honorary" member of the Walker family. Cordell's mother, Abeline Walker has always been on his side no matter how much trouble he gets himself into. Hoyt just returned to Austin and has all ready tested Cordell right away as he was part of a arms deal and Cordell had to be the one with Mick's assistance to catch him and lock him away. He has had a romance with Geri Broussard in the past. Cordell's children, Stella and August Walker have an affection for him as he is referred to as "Uncle Hoyt". Hoyt is usually up for a challenge. Hoyt was in jail and was able to assist Liam Walker and Captain James with finding out the truth regarding what happened with Emily and determined that the person they had arrested, Carlos Mendoza was not the killer. Hoyt was released from jail during the episode 1.11 Freedom and was thrown a welcome home party. Hoyt was happy to be finally back with his best friend, Cordell and his best girl, Geri. Hoyt has plans to marry Geri but she told him "no" and told him that during the time where they found out who killed Emily, she and Cordell kissed. Hoyt went to confront Walker during the episode 1.13 Defend the Ranch and was captured as well with the Walker family. Hoyt, helped Walker with robbing a bank and supported him every step of the way like friends should be. Unfortunately, Hoyt was victim of a fatal stab wound to the stomach from Clint West. Hoyt died in the arms of Walker and his family members. Hoyt died a hero and protecting his best friend.
