- Full name: Jessica Lee Moore
- Jess shares a birthday with Dean: she was born January 24, 1984 (a couple of months after Mary's death). In an interview Kripke said The reason for this was "...not a creepy, mythology, conspiracy reason. January 24 is my wife's birthday, and it's kinda my valentine to her."
- She was killed on November 2, 2005 in the same manner as Mary Winchester.
- She shared an apartment with Sam in Palo Alto and was also a student at Stanford. It is not known what she was studying.
- The studio bosses wanted Eric Kripke to write Jessica as an ongoing character, but Eric just thought it wouldn't work, and he suggested to kill her off, which they liked. Then the studio urged Kripke to make Jessica an evil demon character, who was planted into Sam's life with purpose, and whose betrayal drives him on the road as he realizes, demons are closer to him than he thought.S1Com, p. 13

1.01 Pilot
It is Halloween and Jess dresses up as in sexy nurse costume and goes out for drinks with her boyfriend Sam, to celebrate his good LSAT score which should guarantee him a place in law school. Later that night, she wakes to find Sam talking to his brother Dean. The brothers haven’t spoken for some time, and Dean has only turned up because their father has gone missing on what Dean calls a ‘hunting’ trip. Sam leaves to help Dean, promising to return by Sunday night.
When Sam returns, he finds freshly baked cookies. He lies down on his bed, and then opens his eyes to find Jessica, eviscerated, and burning on the ceiling.

5.03 Free To Be You And Me
Lucifer appears as Jess in a dream to Sam, trying to convince him that he will never change, and that those close to him will continue to die (An alternate explanation is that Jess is part of Sam's subconscious, ie a dream, which Lucifer then invades.)
5.20 The Devil You Know
It is revealed that the demon Brady introduced Sam to Jess. Azazel was concerned that Sam was losing his potential and so Brady introduced Sam to Jess with the plan that her death would drive Sam back to hunting. It was Brady who killed Jess, on Azazel's instructions. Clearly his instructions were to make it appear as though Azazel killed her so Sam would recognize the death scene and continue hunting to get revenge.
