History
Mr. Wyatt is Sam's English teacher in 1997. He praises Sam's writing in an essay on "What My Family Did Last Summer," even though he assumes it is partly fictional as Sam includes a story about a werewolf hunt. When Sam reveals he is expected to go into "the family business," Mr. Wyatt encourages Sam to make his own decisions.
In the present day, Sam returns to thank Mr. Wyatt for taking an interest in him and says he's the reason Sam went to college, even though he did end up in "the family business." Mr. Wyatt says that what matters is that Sam is happy, and poses the question to Sam "Are you happy?"
