:"He loved you. You know that? He did. I felt it. He loved you so much and you broke his heart. Of course, I'm talking about the old you. The "you" with the soul. Yeah. Kermit the Prophet told me about your sitch. What's it like not having a soul? Must be relaxing."
Nick makes his way to DonatelloRedfield's house and ties him to a table, where he injects him with an unknown substance. He has Donatello leave a voicemail with a bible reference in Dean's cellphone and waits at the house for the Winchesters' arrival. He tells Dean and Mary that he injected Donatello with thallium and he only has roughly 24 hours before he dies. After Nick shows them the live stream footage, Dean takes him back to the Bunker.
Sam is agitated to see Nick again, but he agrees to wait to kill him until after they save Donatello. After Dean beats him to a pulp, Nick says that he wants to talk with Jack. Upon Jack's arrivalentering the room, Nick taunts him Jack about breaking Lucifer's heart and no longer having a soul. Jack angrily tells him that he has a soul, but Nick headbutts him, which brings Jack close to snapping. Out of fear, Nick agrees to show them where Donatello is.
After arriving at the warehouse, Dean heads inside with the antidote for thallium, Prussian Blue, while Sam waits in the car with Nick. Meanwhile, Jack examines the syringe Nick used on Donatello and senses that it was recently filled with angelic grace, not thallium. While Mary calls Sam to explain what Jack found, Nick takes out a lock pick hidden beneath his skin. Sam drags Nick out of the car, who explains that he injected Donatello with angelic grace in order to contact Lucifer in the Empty and learn how to bring him back. Nick also explains that he was able to keep himself hidden and acquire the grace because of a group of demons who want Lucifer back as well. Nick removes his handcuffs and attacks Sam while the demons attack Dean in the warehouse. After a drawn out fight, Nick strikes Sam's head with a rock. Sam manages to honk the horn to alert Dean, but he starts succumbing to the head wound while Nick escapes.
Nick steals a passing driver's truck and heads to a nearby abandoned cabin where he begins to open a portal ritual to the Empty. He burns his shirtbring Lucifer back using Jack's blood, which was smeared with Jack's blood on his shirt when he headbutted him, and mixes it with his blood. Nick burns the contents of the bowl in a salt ring and manages to summon Lucifer from the Empty. A fanatical Nick looks at the dead archangel in awe as he grants him permission to possess him again. However, casting the spell alerts Jack of Nick's location. Jack teleports himself and Mary to the cabin where he banishes Lucifer back to the Empty and closes the portal before he could possess Nick again. Jack, who had enough of Nick's tricks, uses his powers to break the bones in his hand to torture him. Jack slowly burns Nick from the inside out, despite Mary's protests, prolonging his agony before he finally falls to the ground dead.
Jack then teleports to the warehouse to heal Sam and tell him, Dean, and Donatello that Nick is taken care of. Mary is visibly shaken by Jack's actions, but he says that Nick was a monster and that he deserved to die like that.
