Over time Rowena grew to love Oskar, and upon learning that he was terminally ill, decided to give the family the gift for their kindness and cured Oskar with a spell, as well as casting a second spell that would take root when Oskar became fully grown, making him immortal.

10.22 The Prisoner

Crowley approaches Oskar, going by the name Seth and working in a diner, and speaks as if he's looking to make a a deal with him when he's called away by Sam faking a distress call from Dean.

Castiel reads Rowena's mind and sees a vision of a young Oskar.

10.23 Brother's Keeper

When Rowena begins reading off the needed ingredients for the spell, she tells Sam and Castiel that the spell requires her to kill something she loves. When she tells the two there is nothing out there that she loves, Castiel reads her mind and sees a vision of a young Polish boy named Oskar, much to her surprise.

After Oskar/Seth serves a customer some coffee, he turns to place the coffee pot down when he hears a sudden noise and turns around to see Crowley standing in the middle of the diner, while everyone is knocked out around him. Crowley telekinetically pins Oskar to the wall and begins telling him the story of an old witch and a Polish family, revealing that he knows Rowena loved him and gave him the gift of immortality.

Crowley takes Oskar with him to Castiel and Rowena when he delivers the ingredients. When he reveals Oskar to Rowena, she sees it as a cruel new low for Crowley, for he only replies that it is only cruel if she actually goes through with it. A visibly shaken Rowena tells Oskar to come and give her a hug, as he does she tells him nobody will be hurt, before saying goodbye to him and stabbing him the neck and draining his blood into the bowl.
