Jay slips the boy's pocket knife into a giant dinosaur plushie, and when people start being attacked by a "giant lizard monster," Sam and Dean check out the case.

13.16 Scoobynatural

While Sam and Dean are in Alan's pawn shop fighting a giant possessed dinosaur plushie, Sam is able to knock the dinosaur to the ground, where Dean douses it with holy oil and sets it on fire. Soon after becoming engulfed in flames the plushie explodes. As Sam and Dean leave the pawn shop with their new TV, Jay slips the pocket knife into the TV.

At the Men of Letters Bunker, Dean shows Sam his "Dean-cave" with their new flat screen TV as the centerpiece. As Dean turns it on for the first time, the boy takes control of the TV and is able to suck them into an episode of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! In the episode, the boy takes on the role of the "Phantom" (played by Cosgood Creeps in the original episode), and begins killing characters. He first appears to Cousin Simple in the middle of the night and stabs him to death, then later decapitates and bisects Cosgood Creeps before turning his attention to Sam, Dean, Castiel, and the Scooby Gang.

The Ghost Kid's animated phantom form.

The Scooby Gang initially doesn't believe the Phantom to be real and attempt to physically capture him. When Shaggy Rogers is nearly killed from being thrown out a window, breaking his arm, the Phantom is sent away by Sam and Dean who attack him with iron candlestick holders before anyone else can be hurt or killed. Sam and Dean reveal that the Phantom and the supernatural are all real to the Scooby Gang and formulate a plan to lure and capture him. Using Cas, Scooby-Doo, and Shaggy as bait, the Gang attempts to trap the Phantom in a room with salted exits and an iron chain. When Fred's plan does not work, Dean moves to Plan B, where Scooby tricks the Phantom into standing on a trap door, dropping him into a salt circle below. Sam, Dean, and Castiel soon learn that the Phantom is just a child being forced by Jay to haunt people because of his connection to a pocket knife; the boy tells them he doesn't want to hurt people and just wants to see his dad again. Realizing the boy is a victim as well, the Winchesters strike a deal to have him send them back to the real world where they will set him free. Seeing the Scooby Gang so distressed, Sam and Dean ask the boy for a favor, and have him change into Cosgood Creeps in a phantom costume so that the Scooby Gang can go back the way they were before learning of the supernatural. With everything back to the status quo, the boy transports the Winchesters and Castiel back to the real world. As Sam prepares to burn his pocket knife, the boy asks about the "bad man" and Dean assures him they will take care of him before his spirit finally moves on.
