Route 666
The sixth extension of Route 66, the famous Mother Road east-west highway, runs through New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. It was long saddled with the Biblical number of the beast but was renamed Route 491 in 2003, ending decades of devilish innuendo and road sign thievery.
