Later, Sam and Dean realize that the Leviathans have begun to use the high fructose corn syrup manufactured and distributed by SucroCorp to affect the humans who consume it to the point where they end up acting oblivious to everything around them like the people who ate the TDK Slammers from Biggerson's, even one complies when Dean bluntly asks him to give him his blood. Later, Edgar relates to the Alpha Vampire that the additive in the corn syrup not only targets humans, but it also kills the monsters who eat them, including vampires, werewolves, and ghouls. Dean uses a syringe of the aptly named "Vamptonite" to kill one of the Alpha's henchmen.

7.23 Survival of the Fittest

At SucroCorp, Dick Roman holds Kevin Tran prisoner and makes a deal with Crowley. He meets with his fellow Leviathans and presents his plan to them: Taking over the United States and feeding on its population. To protect himself, Dick has many of the leviathans at SucroCorp take on his form to confuse Sam and Dean. In order to kill Dick, Sam, Dean, Meg and Castiel attack SucroCorp with Sam, Dean and Castiel sneaking in while Meg creates a distraction by driving the Impala through the front gate and giant glass sign, drawing out the Leviathan guards which she dispatches. Sam rescues Kevin, who convinces him to detonate the building before leaving, while Dean and Castiel track down the real Dick in SucroCorp's lab. There, they dispatch a Leviathan scientist and kill Dick, but get pulled to Purgatory with him. Crowley shows up, takes Kevin prisoner and leaves, informing Sam of an army of demons outside waiting to take care of the remaining Leviathans in the building.
