Destiny's Child Promo for upcoming episodes 12, 13 and 14 called "The Final Chapter". The series finale was due to air on Monday 18th May 2020, although this will now change due to the shutdown of production on the 13th of March due to COVID-19. Showrunner Andrew Dabb said ahead of the broadcast of Destiny's Child on 23rd March, that the episode would be that last broadcast at present as the visual effects and audio weren't finished on episodes 14-18 before the shutdown. There were two episodes left to film. Dabb also said that "We, the CW, and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series. It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when"." On 14 May, 2020 CW President Mark Pedowitz announced that Supernatural would return to Thursday nights to air its final seven episodes in the fall. Pedowitz said: "Jared and Jensen will go back to finish the last two and then Jared will go off to work on Walker. We hope they will start shooting [Supernatural] late summer early fall. If not, we’ll be flexible in our schedule. We all want to end the 15 years the right way. It's important that these two episodes will be done the way they hope to do them. If not, we'll wait it out." Thanks #SPNFamily, family don't end with blood, or when shows end. End of the final script On 6th March, Andrew Dabb posted a screenshot of the final page of the final script. It read "The End." In response, creator Eric Kripke tweeted "I wrote “To Be Continued” at the end of the every #SPN ep as a good luck ritual. They couldn’t cancel us, we were continuing! #SPNFamily: know what’s still continuing? You. Your love for each other & the good you put in the world. If I could ask one thing, it’s that: keep it up." Clever fans decoded the sentence, which is cut off above "BLACKOUT". COVID-19 The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt around the world, and has affected the SPNFamily. On 13th March it was announced that Supernatural, along with all other Warner Brothers TV series, had shut down production until further notice. Supernatural had just finished filming day one of the 19th and second last episode and had just over two weeks left of filming on its final season. Extra entertainment There's lots of homemade entertainment available for fans. Check out social media for posts from Jensen, Misha and Jared and their families, as well as these offerings: Rob Benedict has started a podcast called "...and my guest is Richard Speight" - with Richard Speight as his guest! Jeffrey Dean Morgan and partner Hilarie Burton are hosting a chat show on AMC called "Friday Night In with The Morgans". They will broadcast from their farm in upstate New York. Watch the first episode with Jensen and Danneel Briana Buckmaster is having a Cocktail Hour on her Instagram every Thursday at 5pm (ish) PST. Supernatural Couch Con on 17-19th April includes watching panels and sharing photo ops from past cons, vendors showing their stuff, giveaways, auctions, raffles, special events and q&a with special guests inckuding Carrie Genzel and OSric Chau. Creation Entertainment is running some Virtual Fan Experiences from 18th-25th April 2020. Panels will be free on Stageit, and there are some paid events on Zoom. Armageddon Expo has been running online panels including one with Ruth Connell and another one with Kim Rhodes, DJ Qualls and Ty Olssson. Postponed/cancelled events Jared's new show Walker will air on Thursdays at 8pm starting in January 2021. On 14th May 2020, the CW announced that it would launch its new season of original scripted shows in January 2021, rather than the traditional October launch. Jared's new series Walker was given a straight to series order by The CW. The pilot was to have started shooting soon after Supernatural wrapped, but that has been delayed. With the length of lockdowns and travel restrictions uncertain, any dates for conventions in 2020 should probably be considered tentative at present. Check out links to all 2020 Conventions and check their status at our Convention Calendar. The SXSW Conference in Austin from March 13-22nd has been cancelled by the City of Austin. It was to have included a panel with Jared, Jensen and Misha along with Sam Highfill of Entertainment Weekly and Alice Jester of The Winchester Family Business . The Supernatural panel had been pulled ahead of the cancellation of the whole conference. Salute to Supernatural Las Vegas 2020 went ahead on 5-8 March 2020, but with a "no touch" rule for photo-ops. Fans and actors alike came up with many inventive poses. Charity A one-day GISH challenge funded over 250,000 meals for kids affected by school closures - as well as some wonderful whacky activities! Fundraising by Nerds and Beyond’s Festival and Beyond as well as an online auction helped Random Acts raise over $40,000 for organisations supporting people affected during the pandemic. Music The album by Jensen and Steve Carlson as Radio Company is now available for purchase. They have released a limited edition vinyl version of their album Vol.1 for pre-order along with band merchandise on their website. Richard Speight has released an album as"Dick Jr. & The Volunteers" called The Dance and How To Do It (2019) produced by Jason Manns. It was launched at the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on November 26. This is a playlist of videos from the night by Celina Beach. Supernatural got a cheeky shout-out from Kansas at a recent concert. Acknowledging the news that Show was coming to an end, they bought a gravestone on stage with “Winchester” written on it before singing “Carry On”! Nerds and Beyond ran an incredible online Convention called Festival and Beyond. There were two days of panels with guests including Brianna Buckmaster, Rachel Miner, Creation photographer Chris Schelke and SPN/comics writer Robbie Thompson. There were panels on fanfic, and show analysis as well as photographer and art. A brilliant celebration of our show and fandom! Congratulations to all involved in organising it. Supernatural writer Davy Perez is a co-executive producer on the show. Due out in May is a new collection of essays called There'll Be Peace When You Are Done, written by actors and fans celebrating Supernatural.
