Jensen's Projects
The Boys
- Shoutout to Eric Kripke and Steve Yockey, who both garnered Emmy nominations for their shows. As Kripke noted, The Boys was the first comic book adaptation to score a nomination for Best Drama ever!

The Winchesters
On 24 June 2021, it was announced that a Supernatural prequel -- The Winchesters -- was in development from Chaos Machine Productions. The CW has given a script commitment for the project which will center on the early life of John and Mary Winchester, with Jensen voicing dean as the narrator. Jensen will executive produce alongside former co-executive producer and writer for Supernatural Robbie Thompson. Jensen said of the project:
“After Supernatural wrapped its 15th season, we knew it wasn’t over. Because like we say in the show, ‘nothing ever really ends, does it?' When Danneel and I formed Chaos Machine Productions, we knew the first story we wanted to tell was the story of John and Mary Winchester, or rather the Supernatural origin story. I always felt like my character, Dean, would have wanted to know more about his parents’ relationship and how it came to be. So I love the thought of having him take us on this journey.”

Rust
On 22 October it was reported that there had been an on-set shooting accident on the film Rust, in which Jensen was playing a lead character. [[Alec Baldwin[[ had discharged a prop gun that killed Director of Photographer Halyna Hutchins, and injured writer/director Joel Souza. It is unknown whether Jensen was on set at the time.
- Jensen has posted on Instagram and encouraged people to donate to the following fundraisers:
- A fundraiser for the family of Halyna Hutchins has bee set up by the International Cinematographers Guild.
- Haylna's husband has set up a memorial scholarship in her name with the American Film Institute.

- Eric Kripke calls for filmmakers to replace not use real guns on set: "Someone hurt or killed on my set is my worst nightmare. Sending love to Halyna Hutchins' family, @JensenAckles, cast & crew of "Rust." I'm so sorry. In her memory, a simple, easy pledge: no more guns with blanks on any of my sets ever. We'll use VFX muzzle flashes. Who's with me?"

Another different take on superheroes, Doom Patrol follows a group of people who all got their “powers” through some sort of trauma. The show is wonderfully weird and has a lot of heart.

- Jenny Klein has been named as showrunner for The Thing About Pam based on a 2011 murder and wrongful conviction that has featured on many true crime podcasts.
- Andrew Dabb has secured an eight episode order from Netflix for a series based on the comic Grendel and will star Abubaker as the masked vigilante.
- Jake Abel appears in James Wan’s new movie Malignant, and hopefully we will see more of him on the big screen. If you are a horror fan, this film is for you as it manages to be an homage to many sub genres at the same time as being very original.
- Suicide Squad 2 owes a lot to the New 52 Suicide Squad series which Adam Glass wrote for, in particular his take on Harley Quinn. There’s a great interview with Adam about his comics work here, with a brilliant young fan with a lot of passion and knowledge. And I take it as a sign as the enduring OTP that is Robdam, that Robbie Thompson is now writing Suicide Squad. You can read a review of the latest book here. You will love Ambush Bug!
