All I had to send him was one clean shot off the security camera.

Sam, Dean and Crowley in 'Scotland' during 6.04 Weekend at Bobby's
  • During 6.04 Weekend at Bobby's Dean and Sam travel to Scotland, as a favour to Bobby. They find Crowley’s grave and dig up his bones, threatening to burn them to end Crowley once and for all unless he does what Bobby requires. Crowley appears in Scotland moments later, where Sam and Dean are still standing over his bones. Dean threatens to burn the bones anyway, but Sam tells him to stand down, saying "a deal's a deal." Crowley picks up his bones and disappears, and Bobby thanks Sam and Dean for flying to Scotland and helping him get his soul back.

  • During 6.09 Clap Your Hands If You Believe Marion talks about Avalon: Marion: Personally, I think they're taken to Avalon to service Oberon, king of the faery. - Avalonis an island in England that features prominently in Arthurian legend. In medieval and Renaissance literature, Oberon is king of the fairies and is most known nowadays as a character in Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

  • In the Episode 7.21 Reading Is Fundamental Dean and Castiel play the board game Sorry!, which originated in England in the 1920s. It is based on the ancient Indian game of Pachisi. Players draw cards which direct their movement around the board. One player's movements may result in another player being sent back to the Start - hence the title of "Sorry!"

UK Supernatural Fan Fiction

There is actually quite a bit of Supernatural Fan-fiction set in the UK, mostly in London, England.

There are some Harry Potter and Torchwood crossovers, SuperWhoLock stories and lots of the Winchester brothers travelling to London to fight a big bad or two.

I do not own any of the works listed and they are all works of fiction. Please note that some stories include adult content; all individual story warnings apply.

UK Music

It’s no secret that UK music totally rocks (on occasion!) but did you know how much of the awesome music, that helps to make Supernatural even more kick ass, originates from our very own shores? Well check this out!

Led Zeppelin live on stage

Asia (often stylised as ASIA) are a British rock band. The band was formed in 1981 as a supergroup of four members from different progressive rock bands, namely John Wetton (former bassist/vocalist of such bands as King Crimson, Roxy Music, and Uriah Heep), Steve Howe (guitarist of Yes), Geoff Downes (keyboardist of Yes and The Buggles) and drummer Carl Palmer (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and Atomic Rooster).

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The band consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The group's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues on their early albums, has drawn them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music.

Foreigner is a British-American rock band, originally formed in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones and fellow briton and ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald along with American vocalist Lou Gramm. Foreigner are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time with worldwide sales of nearly 80 million albums, including 37.5 million albums in the United States alone.

Bad Company is an English rock supergroup founded in 1973, consisting of two former Free band members—singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke—as well as Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs and King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell. Peter Grant, who, in years prior, was a key component of fellow British rock band Led Zeppelin's rise to fame, managed the band. Bad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s. Many of their singles, such as "Bad Company", "Can't Get Enough", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", and "Feel Like Makin' Love", retain popularity with rockers of both the past and present decades. To this day, their songs remain staples of classic rock radio.

Black Sabbath are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward. The band has since experienced multiple line-up changes, with Tony Iommi the only constant presence in the band through the years. Originally formed in 1968 as a heavy blues rock band named Earth, the band began incorporating occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics and tuned-down guitars. Despite an association with occult and horror themes, Black Sabbath also composed songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, the dangers of drug abuse and apocalyptic prophecies of the horrors of war.

Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitar, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitar, backing vocals). This is the band's longest-standing line-up.

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. Their early mission was to share their enthusiasm for rhythm and blues, but they were received as symbols and leaders of rebellious youth. The first settled line-up had Brian Jones on guitar and harmonica, Ian Stewart on piano, Mick Jagger on lead vocals and harmonica, Keith Richards on guitar and backing vocals, Bill Wyman on bass and Charlie Watts on drums. Jones founded and led the band, but after teaming as co-writers Jagger and Richards assumed leadership of the band. Jones' increasing physical and mental troubles forced his departure from the band two weeks prior to his drowning death in 1969. Since Wyman left in 1993, the full band members have been Jagger, Richards, Watts and guitarist Ronnie Wood who joined in 1975, replacing Mick Taylor (who had followed Jones). Estimated album sales are above 200 million, with 15 gold, 17 platinum and 11 mult-platinum selling albums in the US alone.

Blind Faith was an English blues rock band that comprised Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, and Ric Grech. The band, which was one of the first "super-groups", released their only album, Blind Faith, in August 1969. They were stylistically similar to the bands in which Winwood, Baker, and Clapton had most recently participated, Traffic and Cream. They helped to pioneer the genre of blues/rock fusion.

Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968. They are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as progressive rock band, the band's sound shifted to hard rock in 1970. Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-Seventies". They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe's loudest band" for a 1972 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre, and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, including 7.5 million certified units in the US.

UK Supernatural Creatures and Mythology

Banshee (source - wikipedia)
  • Banshees Written in John Winchesters Journal (prevalent in the West Highlands of Scotland)

The story of the banshee began as a fairy woman keening at the death of important personages. In later stories, the appearance of the banshee could foretell death. Banshees were said to appear for particular Irish families, though which families made it onto this list varied depending on who was telling the story. Stories of Banshees were also prevalent in the West Highlands of Scotland. The banshee can appear in a variety of guises. Most often she appears as an ugly, frightening hag, but she can also appear as a stunningly beautiful woman of any age that suits her. In some tales, the figure who first appears to be a "banshee" is later revealed to be the Irish battle goddess, the Morrígan. The hag may also appear as a washer-woman, or bean-nighe (washing woman), and is seen washing the blood stained clothes or armor of those who are about to die. The banshee may also appear in a variety of other forms, such as that of a hooded crow, stoat, hare and weasel - animals associated in Ireland with witchcraft.[3] The most famous Banshee story is the Brother Grimm fairy tale Hänsel and Gretel, in which two children walk into the woods where they are caught by an old hag, who prepares to eat them.

  • Loch Ness Monster In 6.12 Like a Virgin, Bobby Singer says that the Loch Ness Monster is real, unlike dragons.

Nessie, a giant lake monster, supposedly inhabits Scotland 's Loch (Lake) Ness. Nessie is the world's best-known cryptozoological creature and has been sighted as far back as 656 AD. Nessie is described as being anywhere from twenty to forty feet long, with two humps, a tail and a snakelike head. Nessie's movements have been studied, and many films and photos analyzed, to determine what Nessie might be, if she exists. For the last seventy years or so, since she began receiving regular publicity, Nessie has been a major tourist attraction. There are numerous theories as to Nessie's identity, including a snake-like primitive whale known as a zeuglodon, a long-necked aquatic seal, giant eels, walruses, floating plants, giant molluscs, otters mirages and diving birds, but many lake monster, researchers seem to favour the plesiosaur theory. The case has occasionally been supported by indistinct photographic evidence, though a famous 1934 photograph was revealed to be a hoax.

  • Water Wraith Pad of Definitions (1.03 Dead in the Water)

The Idea of Water Wraiths originated in Scotland . A wraith is thought to be an apparition -- a spectre , a vision, an unreal image – and a Water Wraith is a spirit thought to preside over the waters. They supposedly take the form of skinny, old women with scowling features who dress in green. The Water Wraiths try to lure unsuspecting travelers to their death by drowning them.
