There are slight differences between the English dubbed version and the Japanese, English subtitled version. For instance, Sam says that he doesn't smell any "ozone" in the Evans' house, but in the Japanese version, he doesn't smell "sulfur." The conversation between Katherine and Dean in the house is also slightly different, and then Katherine's line that she says after Sam discovers the blood trail down the side of the house is completely cut out of the English version. Weird! I'm not sure how we want to play this--should the synopsis include things said in the Japanese version? And which version should the quotes come from? Just some thoughts... --Ashley 00:07, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

  • It's a good question... because the translations of these episodes are pretty off... I mean, they even call John's Journal "Dad's Diary" in the first episode... (Mainly because the Japanese word for Diary (にっき/nikki) is the same as Journal.) They also don't hunt a "doppelganger" in the Japanese version, they hunt an "ikiryou" instead which is similar, but completely different in terms of motive. Not to mention the fact that they tend to completely ignore the English text in the episode when reading things, such as letters or articles, and use poorly translated versions. I am wondering if they are going to edit the scripts and re-record prior to an official American release, because as they sit, they are pretty sloppy. Comedicdrama 06:39, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
