To me it seems highly unlikely that a fairy could overpower an angel. Despite The Leprechaun claiming not to fear angels, I am willing to bet that if he really encountered one, he would fear it.

- Well until there is a canon encounter between a fairy and an angel we cannot know for sure. It can be true, or false. Angels do seem more powerful, but it can be possible that fairies have a different type of magic angels do not know of. -- Scyllaya January 25th 2011
