Quick question. Near the end of 5.01 Sympathy For The Devil, Castiel after his resurrection, inscribed angelic runes in Dean and Sam's ribs, hiding them from angels and archangels alike. I think the whole "sweets" thing really does just go back to Trickster stuff, and more specificly Gabriel (who wasn't posing as a trickster, at that point he basically WAS a trickster, EXTEMELY powerful because of his being an Archangel, but still a trickster for all intents and purposes).
