Talk:Nick

This page should be kept to refer only to the character Nick who became Lucifer s vessel. Following possession, content related the state of luicfers vessel should be included on the Lucifer page and i have created a section for this purpose. cheers Missyjack (talk)/ Admin

I just recently updated the Nick page by adding more background info onto his page.... I weep for Nick. I mean he was possessed by the Devil; the Devil's spirit tore Nick's body to the limit. Nick had a pretty bad life - his wife and child were slaughtered, he was the Devil's vessel. Bad lives these days huh? :( -- GrammarKing, June 10th 2010

Possible reference to an epithet for the Devil, Old Nick? Lumix19 21:07, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

I added some more detailed information on Nick. Despite not being mentioned verbally, his references are often implied. Letter765

Unless Nick is referred to by name or as the "vessel" it isn't relevant to the page. "The End", "Abandon All Hope..." and "Hammer of the Gods" make no references to Nick or him being Lucifer's vessel. Mikael (talk)

Update

This page needs to be updated to reflect Lucifer's recent death and thus Nick with him. However, I don't think Nick was resurrected, just repaired and upgraded as Crowley said to house Lucifer again. There was no sign of him being alive when Lucifer took control of his body again and he always seemed more like Jimmy Novak: a dead vessel housing a live angel, restored by another being after the vessel's death to act as their angel's permanent housing. Jimmy's dead too and he still houses Castiel since God restored Jimmy's body for Castiel's use. That's all Nick is: a restored and upgraded corpse for Lucifer's use.--SupernaturalFan (talk) 13:20, 18 May 2018 (PDT)

Castiel had God bring him back, so he was able to skirt the rules. Nick would have to be alive (and in a vegetative state like Donnie Finnerman was for Raphael). If Nick is dead then it sort of renders season 5 and 11 pointless as Lucifer should just be able to kill Sam and jump in. So, Nick has to be alive, but in vegetative state. Mikael (talk)
Cas didn't have God bring him back, God did that on his own as a reward for stopping the Apocalypse. Jimmy is confirmed dead as of the middle of season 10, he was just restored like Nick to act as Cas' vessel. The reason Lucifer went into Nick was the effects of Rowena's perverted spell. If Nick was alive, he would've had to consent a second time for Lucifer to possess him. We saw that when Gadreel returned to his vessel in 9.10 Road Trip: the guy had to say "yes" again before Gadreel could reenter his body. Nick just sat there while the spell sent Lucifer in.--SupernaturalFan (talk) 15:26, 19 May 2018 (PDT)
PS: I never actually understood that with Donnie btw. He wasn't totally vegetative, just seriously mentally damaged. He was still conscious, just "a drooling mess." He probably had enough of his mind left to say "yes" a second time. If it was as simple as being able to reenter a live old vessel, Lucifer could've reentered Sam immediately when he saw him again in Hell instead of needing Sam's "yes" a second time.--SupernaturalFan (talk) 15:29, 19 May 2018 (PDT)
Sam was able to consent subconsciously to Gadreel, same would apply to Nick and Lucifer, we just don't see it. Again if Nick was a corpse, then it literally renders the whole of season 5 pointless if Lucifer is able to take possession of a dead body, regardless if Crowley redirected Rowena's spell. It's still a corpse, it can't consent, and if Lucifer can still enter it, then he could have killed Sam in season 5 or season 11 and not had to bother about consent. Castiel, again has the work around of being brought back by God, who can skirt the rules, something that Nick nor Lucifer had. Also, people in vegetative states do sleep, and don't just lay or sit around with their eyes open. Mikael (talk)
Sam didn't just "subconsciously" consent, he did it in his mind when he was fully aware of what was going on. Someone in a vegetative state wouldn't have a mind left to consent with. And frankly, I've never been sure if that was Dean or Gadreel being fed lines by Dean. It makes no sense for Nick to have been resurrected, that is extremely speculative with no definitive proof. Frankly, we never got an explanation for how he got back into Nick's body beyond the spell which purposefully sent him there. Angels have always shown the need to get reconsent from their vessels over the years, Raphael and Donnie aside. If it was as simple as just returning to an old vessel that had never revoked consent, Cas wouldn't have needed Jimmy to give permission again in The Rapture. Jimmy never revoked and he wanted Cas back by that point to save his family. If it was a matter of implied consent, Cas certainly had it then but took Claire instead.--SupernaturalFan (talk) 23:33, 30 May 2018 (PDT)

Unlocking The Page?

Now that we know that Nick is still alive somehow after Lucifer was killed, the page needs to be unlocked and updated with new info. We'll definitely be seeing more of him as Season 14 progresses. --Letter765 (talk) 01:25, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Keep it vague

The fact is we don't know the circumstances of Nick's return at the moment, all we know is that Crowley took his body repaired and upgraded it. He may have been resurrected (though there was no mention of resurrection), or he did survive Lucifer's possession the first time, Castiel says that Lucifer was drinking gallons of demon blood to strengthen the vessel. So I think it's best to keep it vague, his body was abandoned, Crowley strengthened and improved his body, and leave out any references to him being dead.Mikael (talk)

  • Cas did say that, but it was stated multiple times that Nick could barely contain Luci even with that and had clearly suffered extensive damage from the possession. Its doubtful he'd survive that kind of damage. As for him being vegetative, if he was in that state, he would've remained in that state after Luci was killed. A repossession wouldn't have repaired brain death. With Gadreel, he didn't have awake verbal consent no, but Sam was conscious in his own mind and gave consent to Dean's plan which was to have Gadreel possess him. Frankly, I was never sure if that was actually Dean or Gadreel being fed lines by Dean given how "Dean" immediately shapeshifted into Gadreel after he got consent. Best theory I've got at the moment is that since Nick was actually still alive, Crowley tortured him into giving consent again before that spell was cast.--SupernaturalFan (talk) 06:20, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Last Name

I know the medical wristband has his name as "Vaught", I just want to put out there that the page should not be named until it is more substantially confirmed in the show. Lady Bevell's Winchester corkboard for example was filled with birth certificates with the wrong information. The writers might want to make Nick's surname something completely different if they ever do want to reveal it. Mikael (talk)
