Easy answer? Then there'd be no show :) Gabriel said in Changing Channels that Sam and Dean were always destined to be the vessels, it was known from the beginning. So maybe its because its prophecised, maybe its because Cain is so deep in Hell that its not worth digging him out, maybe the relationship is too perfect to pass up (Dean/Michael older brother loyal to Dad/God, Sam/Lucifer rebellious younger brother). Several possible reasons. --Staxeon 00:29, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Pure speculation: Remember when Michael claims that he can inhabit any human that is of the Winchester bloodline because they're descendants of Cain and Abel? Well why did Michael and Lucifer go through all the trouble of trying to obtain consent from Dean and Sam Winchester when they could have easily resurrected Cain and Abel and then could have used them as their Vessels instead? Because if what Michael said was true then they could have done the following.

You're absolutely right; Chuck should not be listed on the page, as this page should only document bodies that demonstrate and act via angelic possession. I also believe that people who 'channel' angels in any way, e.g. the nun, should be recorded on this article. I erase this little bit.

Should Chuck be listed here? I can see how a mouth piece is an extension, or a sort of vessel, but Chuck is a prophet of God (or is God depending on how you view his final appearance). He's getting his visions of the future through vivid dreams, not really through possession by an angel. --Staxeon 06:02, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

I think the Plan B vessel section needs to be edited as some of it is not canon. eg we don't know that a temporary vessel will die or spontaneously combust. --Missyjack 00:43, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

One could be led to believe that the thought of using a Plan B vessel as it applies for Sam & Lucifer; it too might apply for Michael and Dean, which is that no one can contain Michael's angelic energy except for Dean. It currently remains unclear if some one could contain Michael for a short period (a Plan B Vessel), like nick is doing with Lucifer. --Anderson Writer, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

since michael says that the ability to be a vessel runs in a bloodline, wouldnt that mean that sam could also be michaels vessel and dean lucifers?

Didn't Gabriel say that it was predetermined that Dean was to be Michael's vessel and Sam was to be Lucifer's? This particular scenario has been mentioned and illustrated many times throughout S5.

It could very well happen that Lucifer at some point might decide to target Dean instead of pursuing Sam into consenting; this would leave Sam open to consenting to Michael.

I just edited the section concerning Plan B vessels. I narrowed the info down to only canonical info. Please feel free to add any canonical ideas or info to the Plan B section.

Wouldn't Andy technically be considered a plan B Vessel, since Dean was Michael's ture Vessel? I mean, you have John Winchester down for that, so I think Andy should count-- Thegoodcapm
