Threesome
A threesome is three people in a collective romantic relationship or simply all in bed together. This may be any combination of sexes; three guys, three girls, two guys and a girl, two girls and a guy.
There are at least three canonical references to threesomes involving the Winchesters. In 1.19 Provenance, Dean is chatting up two women at a bar, and the next scene the following morning implies he spent the night with them. In 3.01 The Magnificent Seven, Dean may have been in a threesome in the opening scene as he later refers to spending time with the "Doublemint Twins". In 4.01 Lazarus Rising, when Dean flirts with Pamela Barnes, she turns to Sam and says "You're invited too grumpy". Dean hastily whispers "You are so not invited".
In Supernatural fanfiction, threesomes are most frequently expressed as Sam, Dean and another character such as John/Dean/Sam, Dean/Sam/Castiel, Sam/Jess/Dean, or Dean/Jo/Sam, or just one of them like in Dean/Castiel/Gabriel. There are also threesomes featuring both male and female original characters. Not all threesomes feature the leads; for example, John/Bill/Ellen has occurred in fanfiction.
In RPS, Jared and Jensen are often paired together with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Steve Carlson, Christian Kane or Misha Collins. Pairings with Misha are sometimes referred to as J2M. There are also some pairings with Danneel Harris, Sandra McCoy and Genevieve Cortese.
Also related to the subject of threesomes is the lifestyle choices of Misha Collins and his wife. Misha's wife herself wrote a book on threesomes, and stated that she was at the time of writing "in a threesome with her husband and another friend". This resulted in much speculation among fandoms as to who the third was, with many even suggesting they were a member of the cast.
