Wayward: The Documentary is a film made by Alana King in 2018. She describes it as follows:

Wayward. What is Wayward? The truth is, it's a lot of things. It's a movement. It's a feeling. It's embracing your true self. And now, it's a spinoff of a popular TV show. In this documentary, I attempted to get behind how the spinoff came to be, why it's important for diversity and representation in the media, and what the future looks like for the potential show.
This is a collaboration of so many creative, beautiful minds. So, a huge thank you to Kim Rhodes, Rachel Miner, Lynn Zubernis, Shelley Harper, Scout Villegas, Michelle Jose, and Creation Entertainment. Of course, a huge thank you also to the fans whose photo ops, artwork, and pictures were shared in this video. Without all of these people, this documentary wouldn't have happened.
And to the Wayward ladies: Thank you. Thank you for being an inspiration to me, and to many other people in the fandom. I can't wait to watch you kill it on my TV screen. I wish you all the best.
