When he was nine-years-old, in 1937, Westborough witnessed H.P. Lovecraft's successful attempt to open a doorway to another dimension. Something emerged and possessed his mother, who he never saw again.

Westborough was committed to an asylum after telling what he witnessed, and remained there all his life. Bobby visits him, asking about the ritual. Westborough has already had a visit from Castiel, but is happy to tell his story to anyone who believes. Bobby expresses sympathy for what happened to his mother, and Westborough gives him her picture who Bobby is surprised to see is of Eleanor Visyak.
